“No, Y/N. You’re drunk.” Harry mumbled as you came at him, trying to kiss him, but he grabbed your arms and held you back.

“I’m not that drunk, Hazzy Wazzy.” you slurred with a giggle as you tried to kiss him again, but he pushed you away, his resistance only making you want him more.

This was the new normal for you and Harry. You broke up months ago, but you still wanted him. Even though you’re the one who broke up with him, you didn’t want him with another girl, which is what had happened.

Harry got a new girlfriend about a month ago and you couldn’t deal with it. You wanted him to only want you.

“Yes, you are. Now get in the car. You’re making a fool of yourself.” Harry mumbled again as he tried to get you into the car, but you were resisting.

You whined, “Just kiss me, Harry…Please?” and he scrunched up his nose as the smell of the alcohol on your breath reached him.

“Y/N, no. We’re not doing this again. C’mon…” Harry said as he helped you into the car and you made a ‘Pfft’ sound as he buckled you in and shut the door.

He reached up and ran one of his large hands through his curls, sighing deeply and closing his eyes for a moment before walking around to the other side of his car and getting in.

Harry was always the one you called when you got into one of your drunken stupors and he always came for you because he still cared about you. He would never want anything bad to happen to you because, as much as he hated to admit it to himself, he still loved you more than anything. He still hadn’t moved on and he knew that helping you every time you called would only make things worse for him, but he couldn’t walk away.

He was still under your hold and you knew it. Admittedly, you loved him too, but you tried to tell yourself that you didn’t. You always had because you always thought that he was too perfect for you.

He was beautiful and he treated you better than any other guy you had been with. He was like an angel and you were the exact opposite. You were a party animal and Harry knew that before all of this even started…but he couldn’t keep himself away. He had already fallen for your charms.

“Harry, do you love me?” you said, your words still slurred as he lead you up to your bedroom after he drove you home.

Harry sighed as he whispered back, “You know I do.” and you smiled as he sat you down on your bed.

As soon as you felt the softness beneath you, you fell back onto it and sighed, raising your arm above your head as you turned it to the side and muttered, “I love you, too.” as you closed your eyes.

Harry looked down at you as you started to drift off to sleep and his eyes welled up as he sniffled a few times, drawing his eyes up to the ceiling as he rubbed the back of his neck, chin quivering as a warm tear slid down his cheek.

His heart ached every time he was near you and he never really understood why you even left him. All he knew was that you didn’t want him anymore and he didn’t know what he did to push you away. He was as much of a mess as you were without him…the only difference was that he didn’t drink to ease his pain.

No, Harry didn’t have a vice to turn to. He didn’t drink, smoke, do drugs, self-harm…none of it. He just lived in misery, trying to be happy with his current girlfriend, but he knew that she would never be you. She never ever could be, no matter how hard he wished it.

Harry cursed under his breath as he wiped at his eyes and peered back down at you, watching your chest rise and fall steadily as you slept peacefully, his own breathing speeding up as he drew his eyebrows together and leaned down.
