I couldn't wait for my time at the Academy to start. I planned on making plenty of friends, getting good grades, learning to fly a Time And Relative Dimension In Space. I even had my outfit planned beforehand because..well..I was just so happy!
It was a collared, white, long-sleeved dress that fell to my knees. My mother was braiding my hair as I waited to be taken to the vortex. My mind wandered to what my future would hold. Far off lands and heroes and kingdoms, maybe!
"Are you excited for your initiation?" my mom asked.
"Yeah, but I'm kind of scared as well. What if I fail?! What if I fall in? I can't fall in, can I?" Mom only smiled and sang me the song she sang to me as a time tot.
It soothed me so much I almost didn't notice that we were walking to the waiting area. I only woke up from my trance when a boy sitting beside me poked my arm.
"My name is Theta Sigma. What's yours?" he asked. The boy had blond hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. He had a toy soldier in his hand with no gun.
I hadn't thought of my Academy name yet! I gave him a nervous smiled. "B-Bellator," I said, with a small stutter, the name coming to me suddenly. He smiled back. Oh thank Rassilon that it was my turn. I was afraid I would mess-up.
As I was walking to the Time Vortex I saw another boy watching me. This boy had black hair and black robes that slightly hid his face. I had a feeling that I would see him and Theta Sigma again.
It was dark out.The torches planted into the ground made a shadow-like path through the red grass. The path led to a swirling dim light. My mind told me that was the Vortex and anxiety began bubbling in my stomach as we approached it.
The Time Lords guarding the Vortex waited as I walked towards it. The Vortex was hurting my head, but it felt soothing at the same time. I felt heat and cold, time and space, all of it, and I just watched. I soon saw a bright, gold light reaching out to me. I reached for it and it glided against my skin. It was so cold, it felt like I was on fire.
I saw flashes of people and places and moments I couldn't recognize, and I felt like I was going to pass out. and I did just that but not before I saw a tall man with cold blue eyes silver hair standing above me giving me a bone chilling smirk.
I heard whispers, words like "Master and Doctor", "Time War and Gallifrey". I saw quick pictures and a bright light. Suddenly I was in an Academy dorm, lying in a bed. I knew things would not go as I expected, but I knew something happened and something was going to change. Rassilon knows just how much of it will change though.
