I can't wait for class to be over. I lay faced down on my desk. This week seems like it has stretched out forever, but it's finally Friday.

"Kamryn!"

I sat up straight. That's my name. I wonder who's calling for me. It could be someone else though. I went back to laying on my desk. I saw someone run past the open classroom door. They seemed to be in a hurry. I don't mind it. There's always going to be that one idiot who's running late for class.

"Kammie!" Yelled a familiar, high pitched voice.

I looked towards the doorway, my head face not leaving the desk. A small female stood there. Although I couldn't see her face, I recognized her ginger colored hair. Lazily I ask, "What is it, Ginger?" I sat upright  vvagain and stretched in my chair.

"You." She runs to my desk and wraps her arms around my neck. Tightly. I struggle to break fee, but fail to do so.

"Ah, Ginger. I. Can't. Breathe."

She let go with a big grin on her face. "Oops, sorry. I'm just so happy. Look." She shoves a paper in my face. I take it and read it. It's our semester report card.

"Wow, all B's and an A." I say in monotone. "Good job."

"It's all thanks to you and your tutoring. Thank you so much, Kammie." Another smile appeared on her face. "Oh, I know. Want to go to the mall tomorrow? I'll buy you something as thanks. Please, please, please say yes." She whined.

I thought for a moment. "I think I have to work tomorrow. How about Sunday?"

Ginger's eyes flickered. "Work, huh? Tell me, what's going to happen today?"

I looked around. Luckily no one was looking or paying attention to us. I leaned in a bit closer to her.

"Okay, so-" I began.

I was interrupted the sound of the classroom door closing. Our teacher, Mrs. Newbs, entered. Class is starting.

"Sorry," I smiled at Ginger. "guess you're going to have to wait until tonight."

Ginger pouted and walked to the back of class to her desk.

The ringing bell marked the end of class. Everyone got ready to leave, but not before Mrs. Newbs stopped us.

"Hold on, everyone. I taped up a paper with all of the pairings for your projects that's due next week."

The entire class groaned, and grumbled about it. No one wanted homework over the weekend.

"Come on, Kammie." Ginger popped up next to me, I jumped a little. "Let's see if got lucky and assigned partners."

She grabbed me by the arm and pulled me over to the crowd of people gathered at the back of the class. We tried to look over people's heads. Even though I'm pretty tall all the heads blocked the list. Also, Ginger is short, so she can't see any more than I can.

"Can you see anything, Kamryn?" Ginger said. She stood on her tip toes trying to look over people's heads.

I try one more time, but fail to see anything. "No. Let's just wait until everyone's gone."

"Kamryn?"

I turn around to see who asked. It's a boy. He's pretty average looking. Tall, dark hair and dark eyes.

"Yeah, who are you?" I ask.

"Tyler." Automatically I sense a cold tone in his voice. It like her dreaded talking to me. "Looks like we're partners." He said disappointingly.

Already I got a bad feeling about this guy. I tried to ignore it. I looked at Ginger, hoping for an escape, but she already found her partner. I looked back at my partner.

"When are you going to start the project?" He asked.

I assumed he meant to ask when I wanted to start working with him, so I thought of what time I'd be free.  "I think I'm free tomorrow."

"Alright then. Just tell me when you're done."

I looked at him confused. "What do you mean?" It sounded like I was going to do all the work.

He sighed. "Look, I really don't want to work with you on this, so can you just do this project for the both of us?"

"Uh, no." I got closer to him, with my finger on his chest pushing him back a few steps. "Listen, If you want any credit for this thing you're going to have to contribute to it. I am not going to do all the work for you. I'll be at the library on Tenth Street at 10 a.m. tomorrow. If you want to get a grade on this then be there." I grabbed my stuff and left.

Ugh, the nerve of that guy. Thinking that I'll be his slave and do all his work for him. I looked at the time on my phone. Four twenty p.m. I can make the 4:30 bus if I hurry.

Just as the bus pulled into the station Ginger came running up next to me. The station is right around the corner of the school. She must have ran all the way here.

"Kammie," She tried to catch her breath. "Phew, I made it just in time. Why didn't you wait for me?" She whined as we got on the bus.

"No need for both of us to be late." I stated bluntly as I sat at the back of the bus.

Ginger slumped into the seat next to mine and pouted. "Why are you so mean to me, Kammie?"

"It's just my nature." I smiled at her. "So, who's your partner?" She perked up.

"Oh my gosh, Kammie, he is so cute. His name is Derek, and he's tall and has like different shades of brown hair, and he has like this really pretty brown mixed with gold colored eyes-"

I laughed. "Wow, that's a really deep description."?

"Hehe, sorry," She got all shy. "What about you? What's up with Tyler?"

"You know him?"

"Everybody knows him." She stated obviously. "Gosh, you really need to pay attention to other people. He's got perfect grades, next to you, he's on the school soccer team and he got first place in the national Decathlon."

"Hmm, sounds like the perfect student." Except that he probably didn't earn those grades himself. And that attitude, like what gives.

I took off my glasses and put in my contacts while Ginger babbled about Derek.

The static of the speakers sounded. "Now arriving at Tenth Street and King Avenue."

That's my stop. I stand and hold onto the railing on the roof of the bus. "Well, I'm off. Ill text you later."

"Bye, Kammie. I'm looking forward to tonight. Be prepared to fangirl with me."

I wave goodbye from the sidewalk and watch as the bus drives away.

I walked towards the building behind me. The words Collin Productions in big lettering over the double door entrance.

Time to get to work.
