An: so in Cspe, we watched despicable me when it dawned on me how similar some of it to batman. Gru adopted three orphaned girls, batman adopted three orphaned boys. Dr. Nefario gives guru advice, Alfred gives Batman advice. Gru has a secret underground hidout, batman has the bat cave. So on so forth, not bother to give more examples. But I will find away to bring Damiain into this story. I will. Just not yet...

Part 1: Three Little Birds

Dick, Jason and Tim bounced around the room, a crazed look in their eyes. As the room was suffocated in their laughter, Bruce could think of only one explanation. They were.... Hyper! He dreaded this scene.

Bruce manged to pick a wriggling Tim by the scruff, "come on boys, time for bed," He tried to sound extosiastic as he plopped Tim down on the bed. He giggled at Bruce's frowne face.

"Did you brush your teeth?" He asked in the midst of the laughs of the older boys. "Let me smell, let me smell,"

A waze of nasty smells rushed in Bruce's nose. Gauging he glared at Tim "You did NOT"

A crazed Jason catapulted into his adopted father, roaring with giggles. The blow trew Bruce onto his rear end. Dick somersaulted down from the bookshelf as Bruce tore the little wing off his face.

"Put on your pajamas!" He flung Jason onto his bed and tryed to snatch Dick in mid kartwheel in vain. "Seriously, this is bedtime, sleepy time!"

"But we're not tired!" Jason whined as Dick rolled out of Bruce's grasp laughing.

"But I am tired," he growled darkly, as he gave up the case for the older boy. He was headed for the door when Tims round, innocent eyes widen. His hands clutched a hard back book.

"Will you read us a bedtime story?"  He presented the book to Bruce with puppy eyes. Bruce looked at the book, them at the mildly settled down boys.

"No" he turned to leave.

"Pretty please?!"

"The physical appearance of the please makes, no difference!" Bruce stated, turning back to face the boys, "it is still no soooo go to bed!"

"But we can't! We're too hyper!" Jason said, bouncing slightly on his bed.

"And without a bed time storie," Dick warned treatningly, picking up Tims pillow as his weapon of choice, "we'll just keep getting up and bothering you... All night long!" 

Bruce gaped at the boy. He fought villians like the joker and the scarecrow before and showed no fear, but the look in the young gypsy eyes shook him to the core. They all meant it, and if they found out... Oh yeah they already know. Great!

Grumbling at his defeat at the hands of three little boys, Bruce trudged over to them. He sat down in the center while the three boys got comfey. He took from Tim and turned it twice in his hand. With a deep sigh, the vigilante began to read.

"Three Little Birds. Three little bird?" Noting himself not judge their choice of book, Bruce turned the page only to find weird fabric made things. "What are these?"

"Puppets," Tim replied "you use them to tell the story."

Confused, Bruce slipped his fingers in the puppets, fashioned to look like birds. Now he was considering burning the book. "Okay? Let's get this over with,

"Three little robins loved to play,

They had fun in the sun all day,

The their mother came and said

"Time for birdies to go to bed"

WOW this is garbage, Do you really LIKE THIS?!"

"Keep reading," the young geniuses whined.

"Ugh!"

"Come ON!"

"Alright alright alright alright 

Three little robins started to bawl,

'Mommy we're not tired at all'

Their mother smiled and said with a purr

'Fine but at least you can brush you fur'"

"Now you brush the fur" Jason whispered tiredly, pointing at the brush. Bruce pick it up at tapped it on the head of one of the puppets. 

"This is litretor?" Bruce asked, confused. "A two year old Gould have wroat this,"

Catching a glare similar to his own from the eldest, he continued 

"Three little robins with feathers all brushed

Said 'we can't sleep we feel to rushed'

Then their mother said in a voice like silk

'Fine but at least you should drink your milk'"

"Now you make them drink the milk" Tim encouraged the elder man. Giving in to this stupidity, he dropped each finger with a puppet down one bye one near the picture of the milk.

"Urgh, I don't like this book," he grumbled, "this is going on forever

Three little robins with milk all gone,

Rubbed their eyes and started to yawn"

Tim yawned, revealing his tiny white teeth. In a canon effect, Jason, then Dick, the Bruce all yawned as well. Bruce quickly shook himself and continued

"'We can't sleep, we can't even cry'

Then their mother sang a lullaby,

'Good night robins, close your eyes

Sleep in peace until you raise

Though while you sleep, we are at part

You mommy loves you... With all her heart'"

Bruce looked at wall, eye wide. All those years ago he lost his family he never knew he would raise another. They needed him, he understood that now.

Snapping out of his daze, he looked around at the boys. Sleeping. 

SLAM!! "Okay that's it the end good night"

Tim, Jason and Dick shot up awake only to see their guardian stand up, drop the book and Trudged off.

"Wait!" Tim practically screamed at him.

"What?" 

"What about goodnight kisses?"

Bruce looked away. His thoughts from before clouded his vision. He couldn't though.

"Nonono, there'll be kissing or hugging, or kissing." The door shut behind the billionaire.

"He's not going to kiss us good night Timmy," Dick said, picking up his pillow at slipping into bed. He sounded almost sad.

"I like him, he's nice" Tim sighed happily. Their new 'father' was secretive, and he was hardly ever home, but Tim knew that under all that rock was something gold.

"But scary." Jason added, switching the lights off.

The youngest thought for a second. 

"Like Batman!"
