Narumi's POV
Hm..? Light blinded my vision As I realized I was no longer unconscious, my first step was to see where I was. What is my name..? Where is this place..? My piercing red orb darted from side to side. There were plenty of faces who stopped to look at me with a distinguished sense of pity, but none of them were vaguely familiar to me. "W-wha!?" I gasped, looking down to see not a pastel blue dress that I imagined in my mind, but dirty rags that barely covered my... breasts..? Last time I checked I didn't have those. Strange. My right eye refused to open and as I wiped it my finger was stained with crimson, so I would rather not bother with it and get blood all over my sad excuse for clothes.
"What a sight for sore eyes," mumbled a cold and uninviting voice. Scared, I shrunk down and glanced up with my good eye in the direction the voice was coming from. The owner of those words was a strawberry blonde who looked to be around fourteen years old. He was dressed rather formally compared to me, albeit anyone looked good next to my tattered cloth.
"Are you here to hurt me..?" I asked. I sort of felt like a mouse, all tiny and curled up, looking up at a big tabby cat. Speaking of felines, a remnant of a memory crossed my mind. I pictured a large and very plump black cat, but in a flash, I was staring back at the blonde.
"Hurt you..?" He chuckled. "No, I'm here to bring you home, Serenia." His blue eyes spoke a warm truth, but I was rather sure Serenia wasn't my name. It was unfamiliar and distant like all the people walking along the street. Outstretched was his hand, and I took it. It was the cat luring in its prey. I was the prey.
Sitting on the luxurious sofa in his house, I felt out of place. I didn't want to get this kind man's furniture dirty, but he said he would bring me something to wear instead of my current pitiful outfit. With the close of a door and footsteps followed him, holding a maid's outfit. "Is this okay? This was the only thing I had."
A maid outfit? Why in the world would he have that in his closet, and more importantly, why in the world would I wear it..? "Y-yeah, that'll be okay," I mumbled without protest and went to change.
TIME SKIP
"Do I really look okay..?" I mumbled, coming out of the bathroom and stumbling around before sitting back down. I was probably blushing like a complete idiot right now, but at least I was out of the cold and into some decent clothes.
"You look great," he smiled kindly. "My name is Satoshi Okumura, by the way." That was a very fitting name for him, I must say. "Since you're already dressed for the job, why not being my maid?"
The proposal was quite sudden, but I guess I could do it. However, I had no clue how to be a maid, which was a pretty big problem. "Okay, but how?"
"A maid that doesn't know how to be a maid? I can fix that," Satoshi smirked. His face sent shivers down my spine. I was in for a long day.
