Ashley got up from her worn out bed. She's been through this routine so much that its become natural. Now it isn't so natural anymore.
With her sister Brooke dead there's no one to wake up for school or make breakfast for.
So Ashley sits for the first thirty minutes she wakes up and takes a shower. Cold or hot, it doesn't matter to her, not anymore.
There's only a num feeling.
She won't even answer the phone for her best friend Lilly. They do practically everything together. This past week there's never been a reply sent.
Avenging is something that comes to mind often. She knows exactly who killed her sister.
Ryan and Tito.
They are 'wanna-be gangsters' as what she likes to call them. Even though police are involved she doesn't want to tell them. She'd rather handle it herself.
So after she takes a shower, she plans, and spies.
Today she'll buy her first gun.
Ashley throws on a pair of sweats and a jacket. She doesn't forget the three-hundred dollars for the gun and ammo. As she passed Brooke's room she looked inside, hoping to see her crazy locked haired sister. When she sees nothing again it only makes her more anxious to get her hands on the gun.
She exits the small apartment and heads downstairs. The elevator wasn't necessary since she's on the second floor. On the way down she sees one of the neighboring kids, Jessica, with a cigarette in one hand and a lighter in the other.
"You've got to be kidding me," She tsks. "Those things are gross. What are you anyways, twelve?"
"Thirteen!" She exclaims. "Why do you care anyways?"
"I don't. Your mom does though, I'd bet that."
"You wouldn't."
"Try me kid."
She rolls his eyes before handing over the cigarette and lighter. Ashley lights it and takes a long drag.
"Hey! I thought you said they were gross!"
"People lie kid, learn that lesson early." She smashes it before walking down the rest of the steps into the cool air.
She unlocks her bike from the rack and puts the address of the seller's into her phone. Five minutes later she's on the go. It only takes twenty minutes to reach her destination. She texts the guy.
I'm here.
A minute later she gets his reply.
Be right out.
So she waits, patiently.
