The Birthday

Alex's POV

"Wake up Ally Cat, wake up! Its your birthday!" I opened my eyes groggily to see the blurred face of my 8 year old brother Darren. "Darren..." I started. "You meet your mate today, GET UP!!" he shouted. "Darr, you know I don't want a mate." I said, sitting up and pulling him into my lap.
"You just don't want a mate because he will take your spot as alpha." He taunted. "No one is going to take my birthright from me." I growled. "And you're wrong, that's not why I don't want a mate. I don't want a mate because I belong to myself, I'm no one's property. And you know how possessive mates are." I explained. "Yeah,yeah. Hey guess what?" He jumped off of my bed. "What?" I asked. "You're gonna be late if you don't hurry!" He laughed and ran out of the room. "Damn it!" I ran to the bathroom and stripped. I slipped into the shower and let the hot water flow over me. I still don't understand why you don't want a mate. Someone to spend your life with. Said my wolf Sky. 'I've already told you over and over why Sky' I said to her as I walked back into my room wrapped in a towel. She quieted down after that.
I slipped into my dark was skinny jeans, and a black v-neck formfitting long sleeve. I put on my sparkly green infinity scarf. And paired it with a pair of brown uggs. I checked myself in my full length mirror. I looked good. My brown hair laying to the bottom of my back. I have not exactly tan but not pale skin. I flattened my hair, the applied nude makeup, eyeliner, and mascara. We look good. Said my wolf. 'Yes we do' I smirked.
I headed downstairs to find my mom in the kitchen making breakfast. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!" Shouted my mom. "Thanks!" I said. " I'm so excited! You get to meet your mate today!" She said reaching in for a hug. "Mom-"
"She doesn't want a mate mom." Darren interrupted. " I know, but maybe meeting him will make you change your mind." She said hopefully. "Maybe." I said. 'Probably not' " I've got to go. I'm gonna be late!" I yelled running out of the door. I ran up to my black 67 Impala. I got in and drove to school.

Once at school, I got out and rushed inside. I made my way down the hallway, to be stopped at m locker by my best friends Charizma, Victoria, and Chase. They started singing happy birthday. "Aw guys, thanks! I said after they finished. " I'm so excited for you! You get to meet your mate!" Squealed Charizma. "Ugh you know-" I started. I never got to finish because at that moment I smelled the most intoxicating smell. He smelled like citrus and mint. My friends noticed. "Mate." I mumbled. Its our mate! Its our mate!" Sky shouted. I looked around. Then I saw him. He had obviously smelled me too. He was looking side to side like a maniac. Then he looked right at me. He headed a straight towards me. When he finally made it passed the sea of people, he hugged me and growled "Mine." I tried to push him off. "Sorry to bust your bubble, but I don't belong to anyone." I said. "But you are my mate." He said. "What's your name?" I asked."Jeremy Silver Wilde" he replied. "I Alexandria Rose Dilaurentis reject Jeremy Silv-" I was stopped mid sentence. He had put his hand over my mouth. "Please, don't reject me without giving me a chance." He pleaded. I looked down at my feet. "Alright. You've got one chance. Don't ruin it." I gave in. "Yes!" He shouted. Then he did the most unexpected thing.
