Chapter 3: Rebound or Booty Call?

Start from the beginning

I sigh. "What did he say?" I say, kind of curious.

"Well, he doesn't think of you as a booty call. None of that stuff at all. He actually kind of likes you." she says with her blue eyes sparkling.

"Ha! That's bullshit!" I laugh, "He's probably lying to you to either get in my pants again or to not look like an asshole. I know a player is a player when I see one." I say.

"Well why don't you talk to him? He's really not all that bad, just trust me." she smiles, then she disappears into the kitchen. I sigh again and I get up from her dining her chair. I walk into the kitchen as well, and I find Liza and Adrian talking. I noticed Adrian didn't drink a single drop of alcohol, which surprises me. I go to the fridge and took out mango juice. I was tempted to add just a few drops of Vodka but I had to resist. Adrian finally spotted me in Liza's huge kitchen and he started to walk towards me.

"Hey." he says in the friendliest tone.

"Hi." I say not looking at him.

"How are you feeling?" he asks curiously.

"Never been better." I turn around to look at him. When I saw his face, I started to feel weak in the knees. I felt my face go a little red, and the butterflies in my stomach were fluttering viciously. I don't know why I felt like this. 'Fight it!' I scream in my head.

"So, you still remember my name?" he jokes.

"Uh yeah. That's kind of a stupid question to ask." I say raising my eye brow.

"I was asking to check if you weren't making a rebound guy out of me." he says raising his eye brow like me.

"Psh. Why would I make a rebound guy out of you?" I say laughing, totally relaxed now.

"I heard about you and Tyler, and I just wanted to make sure you weren't. I hate being used you know." he says in a more serious tone, still with his eye brow raised.

"I'd never do that to you, or anyone. I'm not like that." I lie slightly, "I was afraid you would look at me as a booty call, and a booty call only." I looked down as I felt a wave of blush splash onto my face.

His tone and expression turned soft, "I'm not like that Luna. I'm not like that at all." he puts a gentle hand on my shoulder and smiles at me.

As I was about to say something, I heard an annoying voice growing louder and louder. It was Joanne. She dressed like she was some pole dancer from Las Vegas. She wore a cropped top with shorts that were way too short her for her body type. All her fat was oozing out her outfit, I almost wanted to barf.

"Honey, you're talking to my man." she says obviously already drunk and snatching Adrian from my side.

"Had enough to drink there?" I say sarcastically as she was pouring some more alcohol in her cup.

"I don't see you drinking any." she sneers as she clumsily takes a swing from her cup.

I ignore her comment, "Were you already drunk when you were dressing up?" I snort looking her up and down.

"Who said I'm your fucking man." Adrian says angry.

"Boo, remember that night when we kissed. I thought you wanted me to be yours that night." she says going all mushy.

"Hell no! Get away from me. I told you already, I was fucked up that night." he yells.

"What the hell is going on here?!" says a very angry Liza, "Joanne! You were never invited. Get your fat drunk ass home." she demands.

"Someone needs to walk me home though." she laughs.

David walks in shocked, his famous mohawk is wet from beer. He heard the commotion, "I'll walk her home."

"I want Adrian to!" she whines.

"No I insist." David says, winking at me. What was that wink for?! Does he know? Shit. Before she could argue, she passed out.

"Finally." I say. Liza, Adrian and David nod in agreement.

"I'll be back in thirty minutes or so." he says lifting up Joanne. "This girl is really heavy." We all laughed, pitying David.

Suddenly Drake walks in, "Yo! What I miss?"

"A lot." I say.

"Ohh." he says obviously not interested. He grabs Liza by the waist and started kissing her in the corner.

"So." I say trying not to be awkward at all.

"So." says Adrian, still kind of mad, "Sorry about Joanne. She's really a handful.

"Just a handful?" I say sarcastically.

"Listen, I gotta go home. My dad will get pissed if I'm not home on time." he says, "I'll call or text you. Whichever you like." he then tried to kiss me, but I turned my head away. It's way too early to be kissing now. Even though we just had sex last weekend. He understood the rejection, so he kissed my cheek. He immediately ran out the door and into the crisp, cool night.

"What was that all about?" says Drake curiously.

"I don't know." I say, still weak in the knees, "I don't know."

All Liza did was grin widely, "Told you he likes you."

"But he didn't tell me so." I protest.

"Just wait and see." she says winking. Drake, Liza and I walk back in to the living room, where most people were and we all danced the night away...
