It all started when my mom met his dad. They've known each other since high school and have been great friends. Now they are agents together and have children. (Separate of course.) My mom introduced me to the former friend (Eric) and I politely introduced myself and said hello. Afterwards I went back talking to one of my best friends (Aniya) before being politely interrupted by my mom. She said, " Why don't you go say hi to Eric's son. You two will be going to the same school together and it might start a new friendship." I hesitantly walked up to him and said, " My mom wanted me to say hi so I decided to say hi." And walked away afterwards while giving him a slight smile.
