Our house was burning down with my mom, dad and me inside. "Lavender!" My dad coughed because of the heavy smoke. "Go."and with that he lay still, very still. "Daddy." I cried. "Don't go!" I said. But I knew he was gone already. "LAVENDER!" My mother screamed."  Before I could answer something broke threw the window. "MOMMY!!" I screamed. She didn't reply. I looked at the the figure and could tell it was a guy by the shape of his body. He was wearing a causal outfit. Just jeans and a grays t-shirt but he was wearing a mask. He ran towards me and picked me up then carried me in his arms. "Wait my moms still in hear!" I roared and kicked and squirmed. "I'm sorry lavender." He hissed. His voice was not human like. "How do you know my name?" I asked and realized we were out of the house. He didn't answer but he touched my cheek and said," stay strong things will get better." Then all of a sudden, he disappeared into thin air.

This all happened when I was 13. And today was my 18 birthday. All these thoughts were swirling threw my head. I had no money or food and nothing survived from the fire. Not even the house. I was the only one to survive the fire and I could have died if the stranger person didn't save me and I never got to say thank you. I sang happy birthday to myself on the streets and searched for something to eat. I didn't have a home or even a shelter, I would move from place to place searching for a job to get money or food. I didn't have any money today so I waited for someone to drop a piece of food. Finally someone did. I scrambled up to go grab it. When I got to it, I saw it was a donut. "My lucky day!" I said happily. "Lucky, I will save some for you too!" I laughed. Lucky was my pet cat and companion. She followed me everywhere I went. I chipped off a piece and handed it to her. "Here you go." I said. She purred a thank you. I ate the donut and savored it. We nearly ever get sweets. Well we really didn't get anything at all in that case. All of a sudden, I started crying because I was thinking about my parents. Lucky nuzzled against me and purred. I lay in the alleyway and sat there till dark approached upon the city and over the forests surrounding it.
