PART 1

I pushed my blonde bangs out of my eyes as I went to sit down at my MacBook Pro. My laptop was my life. I had everything on it. From school work to narrative writings to my old Club Penguin account, it was something I couldn't survive without. Oh, and I have a YouTube channel. Asides from my computer my YouTube account was my child. I had birthed it (metaphorically), I had raised it (I now had over 200,000 subscribers) and I had fed it (I have 150 videos and over 5 million views over all). Youtube had opened up a whole new genre of the interweb for me. I was able to travel the world, make tons of amazing new friends and the money isn't too shabby either. Even at the young age of 15 I had already planted my two feet firmly where I knew they would grow for quite some time. Never in a million years had I imagined anything coming close to knocking me out of my YouTube paradise. But then came along Bertie Gilbert. He goes by the name BertiBertG and is a blonde haired, green eyed British YouTuber. We met at Vid-Con almost a year ago and things happened. I kind of really, really like Bertie and he kind of really, really likes me. It's been so long but I don't think I'll ever forget Bertie Gilbert. So I decide to sit down in front of my camera today and tell my viewers the truth about our Vid-Con meet-up 2013. I haven't asked for Bertie's permission but I don't feel the need to. I do feel the need to let people know the truth because of the rumours that have been circulating Bertie and I for the past year.

I sigh and press the record button on my Canon Rebel T4i and I take a deep breath. "Hi guys! Its me again. Today I'm going to be telling you a story. A story that happened almost a year ago, but it is still crucial..." And off I go... "On the very first day of Vid-Con I had tagged along with my good friend Mel and we had somehow managed to find ourselves in and amongst some of the most popular British YouTubers such as JacksGap, Caspar Lee, Zoella, Pointless Blogs and so on. Mel, being the more outgoing and energetic one had managed to pull me through the sea of "celebrities" trying to intermingle with each and every one she practically worshipped. But of course she didn't tell them that, because a mob full of creeped out YouTubers might as well end horribly. Anywho, there we were, making our rounds when all of a sudden we see Bertie Gilbert. Now I had never heard of Bertie before that moment, never mind watched his videos, but Mel had supposedly been infatuated with the lad from first video. I just rolled my eyes once again (actually I'm surprised my eyes haven't permanently gotten stuck yet) and followed Mel over to where Bertie was sitting. Closer up I noticed more things about him. I noticed how green his eyes were, I noticed his odd yet stylish outfit choice and I also noticed how inviting he smelt. Now don't ask me how someone can smell inviting, he just did. Mel let out a nervous "Hello" that sounded more like a "h-h-hachlof" and he smiled and replied with a nod of his head. He then laid his green eyes on me and I blushed whilst managing a small "Hi". I hate to admit this to people, so you better consider yourself lucky, but yes in that moment I had contracted a full frontal case of butterflies. He then replied with a "hello" and as if on cue Mel dove into a loud conversation about how much she adored his channel and so on. But all that time that I stood silent whilst Mel gabbed away I noticed Bertie's green orbs never seemed to look away from me.

After what seemed like years Mel had found a new Youtuber to fawn over. This time though instead of following her over I politely asked if I could take a break and went to sit on an empty couch on the other side of the room. I adjusted my pleated, floral-print skirt and black Brandy Melville crop top, then I made sure my long blonde waves were sorted to look somewhat presentable. Then I sat back and relaxed enjoying the fact that I no longer had to converse with anymore strangers, that is until Bertie came up and sat down beside me.

"Hello again." He said.

"Um, hi." I replied, then we just sat their for what felt like eternity and let me tell you, it was an extremely awkward eternity.

"You look nice." Is all he said.

"As do you."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome." I just stared out onto the crowded dance floor hoping he wouldn't sit there for much longer.

"Would you like to join me for a walk outside?" He asked while standing up. A breath of fresh air did sound terribly inviting.

"Um, sure." And we linked arms and headed towards the door. The night was humid and warm, and the botanical gardens were all lit up. It was nice to get outside after being stuffed into that hotel dance hall for two hours straight.

"So, seeing as how I don't even know your name. Would you mind telling me?"

I laughed a nervous laugh, "Katerina, but most people just call me Kat."

"Well Kat, since we are now officially YouTube BFF's I think that we should play a game."

"And what game is that?"

"Top the story." Now, pause the name stays pretty much true to itself. One tells a story they experienced and the other has to top it with their story. And off we went telling each other every little and big story we could remember about ourselves. I had told Bertie every little thing about myself and I scolded myself afterwards for being so un-classy. And I personally blame it on his inviting cologne. The night could only get better though.
