A/N:Remember it's the 80's, and the fashion was like bright and colorful and amazing omg. lol. but yeah.
It's a B Day, so hopefully Chresanto wouldn't be in any of my classes. Yesterday was the weirdest day ever, but I enjoyed. Now I see why guys say us females are so moody. Today there will be NO crying. And since Chresanto wanted to tease me yesterday, how about I tease him? I put on my black high waisted leggings, and a white cropped tee, that came a little over my waist. I decided to turn on my radio and danced to "Push It" by Salt N Pepa as I got ready. I rapped along with it and I was teasing my curls. I put on gold eye shadow, and red lipstick. Then I put on black eyeliner. I put on my thick gold chain that my dad got for me, my Run DMC glasses, and a few gold and silver bangles. I wore my white air force ones again, and stepped out of the house singing. "Yo, yo, yo, yo, baby-pop, Yeah, you come here, gimme a kiss Better make it fast or else I'm gonna get pissed..." I rapped. "Can't you hear the music's pumpin' hard like I wish you would? Now push it." I heard Chresanto rap. I turned around and jumped. When did he start meeting me at my house? "Where's Ray? And a-and Jayla? And Jacob and Craig!" I exclaimed. "They said you were taking too long so they left, but I decided to wait for you." he said. I looked around. They did this on purpose. "Well.. what you know bout Salt N Pepa?" I asked. "My mom." he said. I laughed. "Oh yeah sure." I said sarcastically. "They're okay, but I like Run DMC, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Eazy E, Public Enemy, you know." said Chresanto. "Me too." I said, with a little smile. "Now what you know bout them?" he asked. "My dad. Except I admit that I like them." I said with a wink. "Your dad has good taste." he said. "Yeah, he did." I said, kind of frowning. "Did?" asked Chresanto. "Yeah, he's locked up." I said. "Oh, I'm sorry." said Chresanto. There was an awkward silence. "So what's your favorite song?" he asked. "I don't have a favorite song, but my favorite rappers are LL Cool J, and Queen Latifah." I said. "Oh word." said Chresanto. The fact that we were conversating gave me chills. "You look pretty today." he said. "You're only saying that to get into my pants." I said, walking a little faster, so he couldn't see me blush. "Jade, I swear I'm not. Stop, look at me." He said, grabbing my arm. I looked into his big brown eyes. "Jade you're a beautiful girl. Why can't you see that?" said Chresanto, while still looking in my eyes. He was serious. "Because nobody has ever told me that before." I said, feeling tears coming on.
We walked the rest of the way to school in an awkward silence. I was quiet in most of my classes. At lunch, everyone was worried about me. The only person that's told me I was pretty, was my dad, and that was a few years back, on my 9th birthday, a few days before he was arrested. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
Flashback....
BANG BANG BANG! "OPEN THE DOOR! IT'S THE POLICE!" "Terell why are they here?" Mom asked. "Jade, go to your room, lock your door, and stay there." said Dad. "Answer me." said Mom. "Mariposa, I can't." said Dad. "OPEN THE DOOR! IF YOU DON'T WE'RE COMING IN!" the officers yelled. "Baby go to your room now." Dad said, in a calm tone. The police burst in making me scream. I ran to the corner of our living room, put my hands over my eyes. "Terell Johnson you are under arrest." said the officer. "Que paso? Huh? What happened?!" My mom yelled. The officer ignored her, and brought my dad out the door. "Daddy!" I yelled, trying to follow the officers. They slammed the door in my face.
"Jade you just stepped in dog shit." said Ray. I looked down. "Nooooo. These were all white too." I whined. "I'll clean them for you." Chresanto said. "Awh." said Jayla. "Jade, you look so zoned out. Are you okay?" Jacob asked. "Uh yeah." I said. Whenever we walked home, the first stop was my house. I didn't even realize we were there. I saw my mom's car out front too. That's weird. "Um, we're at your house." said Craig. I snapped back to reality. "Oh yeah. My moms home." I said. Ray got excited. He walked inside first without even knocking. "Mrs.Johnson!" he yelled in excitement. "I guess you guys can come in too." I said. I took off my shoes, and we all walked inside. I didn't want to get dog poo on the carpets. My mom seemed overwhelmed by Ray, who was sitting there hugging her. We weren't Mexican, but Ray loves my mom's tacos. When he found out I was half hispanic, he invited himself over for dinner. "Hi Ray." said Mom. He walked over and sat on the couch, with the rest of us. "Uh hey mom. Why are you back so early?" I asked. "They let me off early today." she said. "Oh.. well what are you cooking?" I asked, trying to peep in the oven. "Baked barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, and french fries." said Mom. "Chicken?" Craig said from the living room. "Yes Craig." said Mom. "Did I mention that you're like a second mom to us?" Craig asked. "You're like the Bob Marley of food." said Jacob. I guess my mom got what they were hinting at. "Yes you guys can stay for dinner." she said. "Yes!" the boys yelled. Chresanto was sitting on the couch awkwardly, so I decided to introduce him to my mom. "Chresanto come here." I said. He got up off the couch and came to the chicken. "Mom, this is Chresanto."I said. I hope my mom doesn't get any "thoughts". "Hi, Chresanto." "Hi, Mrs.Johnson." "Where are you from?" Mom asked. "Cali." he said. "I've always wanted to go there." My mom said, and smiled at Chresanto. "It's a nice place." he said, and walked back into the living room. I decided to hang in there with everyone until dinner was finished. We watched "Diff'rent Strokes" reruns on tv. "Whatchu talkin' bout Willis?" Jayla would say, just like Gary Coleman. I was still shocked that my mom was home so early. "Dinner's ready!" she yelled. Ray, Craig, Chresanto and Jacob were the first ones to get up. Jayla and I just looked at eachother abd laughed.
