I was sitting in my room, shouts echoed from down stairs. I sat ears pricked as I tried to listen to what was being said. "I told you Taylor she ran off and did not........" the conversation was cut off as my head went into overdrive thinking. 'who was he talking about, was he talking about my sister.' Many question along the line of that ran through my mind. "No, it is your fault. How...... how are we going to tell him. He has gone through enough without losing his sister, because of you being a complete idiot!!" the sound of skin connecting with skin echoed "You little bitch! Don't talk to me like that!" the sound came again, but the sound that followed was the sound of something loud and heavy hitting the floor with a thud. Stood from my bed. The mess of blankets falling to the floor. I crept to the door my heart pounding painfully against my chest. I froze as I heard loud footsteps approach my door. then walk they just kept going till I heard a door slam. The slam shook the whole house, causing my heart to skip a beat. I held my hand on the clod handle and stood there, waiting to see if any one else was going to come. When nobody did I slowly opened the door to the dark hallway. My tail and ears twitched as I walked slowly down the dark hallway to the stairs. The light from the fire danced on the walls. I walked as soundlessly as I could down the. Soon being met by the sight of my mother sobbing into her hands on the couch. I ignored her and walked out the door without a word. I stood in the rain it fell heavily. As I thought the full thing hit me like a brick wall. My sister is gone and she probably is not coming back. Tears welled in my eyes blurring my vision as I ran through the thick woods. I stopped when I became short of breath and stood at the base of a tree to catch my breath. I put my back to the tree and slid down it, til I was sitting on the ground. I was soaked to the bone and shook as I sobbed loudly.

"Are you alright?" A calm voice said concern laced his words. I sniffled "Yeah, I am just fine." I looked up from my hands a boy at least a year younger then me. He stood there not convinced by my words. Seeming to not want to argue he said "Okay, fine will you at least take my cloak so you don't catch a clod in this rain." He held out to me a cloak that whipped as the wind picked up. I took it from his hand, as his sky blue eyes held my gaze. "Thanks" I mumbled standing to put on the cloak. To be met with the boys face inches from mine. I felt my whole body heat up being so close to him "sorry I didn't..." he cut me off by saying "Don't say sorry I would rather know your name." taking the hint I said "My name is Joseph but people call me Stampy." He smiled "Well stamps mines David, but you can call me squid." I smiled taking the hood of the cloak and covering my ears. "I can see that you are a cat hybrid." Squid started walking I followed "Yeah......I am so?" "oh there is nothing wrong with it I just thought you were trying to hide it is all." He stated plainly. I was confused why would I hide who I was? "So you gonna go home or follow me all night?" the question caught me off guard "oh sorry, I guess I should be heading home." Squid turned around stopping me in the process "Hey don't feel you always have to say sorry okay, you can just be chill." being this close to him again made me feel that warm bubbly feeling "O ......... okay... talk to you later squid." I quickly turned around and ran off in the other direction hoping he didn't notice my rush.
