A cool crisp hand rests on my bare shoulder, sending chills down my spine. This is a man. His touch is delicate but firm. Slightly dominating. I sip my drink, expecting it to just be another drunk man in a bar leaning on me. That's the slightly disturbing thing about clubs, men think they have the right to put their hands all over you. Like you're a piece of meat. Well not today big guy.
I whip my head around and turn in my chair to face the man who's invading my personal bubble. As my body comes to a halt, my mid length brown hair whips my back. Ouch. That wasn't very sassy. Play it cool Bree, play it cool.
"And what..." My words get stuck as my eyes run up the mysterious man's body and freeze at a surprisingly handsome chiselled face. "Do you think you're doing?" I finish off the sentence silently in my head, feeling slightly embarrassed for snapping him.
"Do I think I'm doing?" The Unknown man laughs arrogantly, repeating my unspoken words and raising his eyebrows. He's amused. I can tell by that ridiculously playful grin plastered across his face. I say nothing. My eyes remain transfixed on the beautiful man standing before me. He's not even a creep. Most of the guys you get in here are creeps. That's why I come here! At least then, I can leave the bar without a man and my excuse is completely valid. My two friends who are here with me are Mariah and Bonnie. They both have partners. Bonnie is in fact engaged. I'm that friend, the friend that always gives the relationship advice, without having had a proper relationship in my life. The irony isn't lost on me.
I sigh to the man, saying nothing. I'm far too embarrassed after making a show of myself. He takes my silence as an apology. I think. "Well. What I think I'm doing is, going to buy you a drink" he sighs, not even attempting to cover his overly large smile. I lift my nose in the air and swiftly turn my stool back so that I'm facing the bar, my head held high. This is my stubborn face. Although, I probably look a bit of a plonker. In fact, I'm sure I look a plonker. I tilt my face to look at him. "No thank you. I'm more than capable of buying my own drinks". My head is looking back towards the bar and I can feel his eyes burning into me. Why is he looking at me? He's so weird.
"Another vodka and Coke please" I say politely to the bartender. Ha. That will show him. Usually I wouldn't object to a free drink from a man, but this man is attractive. He's very attractive actually. I may even go as far as to say he's... Sexy! If I accept his drink now, it will make me look easy.
Out of the corner of my eye I see him perched on the stool. His elbows are on the bar and he's resting his chin on his hand, whilst his fingers gently run across his stubble. I idly wish that I'd have just gone with Bonnie and Mariah to the bathroom. They're probably standing in the toilet blocks drunk, complimenting women on their dresses and telling one another their life stories. It's pretty interesting what you find out in a woman's bathroom on a night out. We all seem to be so polite and kind to one another. It's as though the girl you meet in the toilets at a night club, will be your friend for the rest of that night. You'll probably never see her again. You probably wouldn't even remember one another if you did. But I like toilet friends. They're so fun on a night out. I could be making a new toilet friend right now, yet here I am blushing at a guy I've only just met.
