Seto was a very.... interesting kid. For starters, he truly believed, with every fiber of his being, he was a sorcerer. He would only answer to his 'new' name, never to his original name, which was Harvey. He had an extremely high I.Q, made good grades in school, and had a loving family. So why did they send him away?
Seto found himself wondering that very same thing as he rode in the car to what his parents called a 'mental institution'. Seto was both confused and nervous. The very words made Seto think of a large, dungeon-like fortress, which made him even more confused as to why his parents were taking him there. Looking out the window, Seto wondered if he had done something wrong. Was it that one time he got a C because he fell asleep before he finished his homework, and had to do it on the way to school? Or maybe it was something else. Was it because they just didn't want him? Seto shuddered at the thought. He wanted to make his parents happy. After all, they had done so much for him. "Seto, we're here" His mom's voice interrupted the boy's thoughts. He looked up, and for the first time, saw the place he would be staying at.
It was an incredible-looking tall white building, with a large sign made of stone in front of it. Looking at the sign, Seto realized that this was the place that his parents were talking about earlier. His mom opened the door to his side of the car, letting him out. Seto, personally, was terrified. He had read about these places in his books, and he honestly didn't want to go inside. He wanted to go home. His mom smiled and took his hand, leading him inside, and Seto, being the good kid he was, simply followed, looking around with wild eyes.
Inside, there was a rather white lounge, with a smiling woman behind a white counter. It was bright. Seto's dad was talking to the lady, and Seto was curled up in his mom's lap with his eyes squeezed shut. He was scared. He wanted to go home. Why were they doing this? He had overheard them saying they would be leaving him there, but he couldn't figure out why. Was it because he had done something with his magic they didn't like?
The woman behind the counter walked over to him and his mom, smiling. Seto narrowed his eyes at her and hugged his mom protectively. "Well, I assume you're Harvey?" The woman asked, and Seto visibly flinched. "My name's Seto." He grumbled. The nurse (well, at least he thought she was a nurse) looked at his mom, confused. "He prefers to be called Seto." She explained. The woman nodded. "Okay. Well then, Seto. You're going to be staying here for a while." She said in a perky tone. The small boy looked up, obviously hesitant. "Why?" He asked, narrowing his eyes again. The woman, (whose name tag read 'Marissa') smiled at him. "Have you ever felt like you didn't belong?" Seto blinked, startled. He didn't have any friends, most of the kids at school made fun of him, so he eventually stopped trying to make friends altogether. Nodding, Marissa smiled. "Well, you see, we can help with that. You'll be staying with a lot of other kids like you, ones that don't really belong anywhere, and we help them." Seto smiled. Were there more sorcerers like him? It would be nice to have someone to play with that didn't think that he was weird. Looking back at his parents, his smile faded quickly. "Will I be able to see mommy and daddy?" He squeaked, suddenly wide-eyed. He hardly ever used those words, but right now he was feeling scared. He didn't want to stay here if it meant that his parents wouldn't be able to see him.
The woman chuckled. "Don't worry, they can visit you at any time." Hearing this, Seto relaxed, smiling. Maybe this place won't be so bad after all....
