I let out a sigh. Third new school this year. Most people would love for their parents to be famous actors, but me? Nope. I would give up anything to have a normal life. Like I said, this is the third school I'm going to this year.
I don't have a very good experience with schools. In fact, the reason I'm going to another school is because I got kicked out of the last one. My older sister takes care of me. She doesn't know why I act like this, but she assumes it's because our parents hardly acknowledge us.
I wave goodbye to my sister, Annie, and walk up to my new school. Nothing out of the ordinary. A group of emos listening to music, multiple groups of girls gossiping over who slept with who, gross couples eating eachothers faces. And of course, a mob of girls around an attractive guy.
I've been describing other people for a while now, I should probably tell you who I am. My name is Eric. I bet you thought I would have a cooler name like Strider or Dustin or something. Nope. I'm just Eric.
Eric Harley actually. I'm a pretty normal dude if you ask me. Sixteen, living with my older sister. Going to highschool. It's all cool.
Am I attractive? Hell yeah. Well, I think I am and it's the thought that counts, right? Oh well. I have black hair and blue eyes. Yes, I may have dyed my hair a few times. I'm also kind of tall. Slightly above average.
I snap out of my thoughts and look back over at the popular guy. I feel as if I should know him... Nah, I've never seen him in my life. I keep walking past the doors and look around for the main office.
After what feels like forever looking, I find it and walk up to the lady at the front desk. "Hi, my name is Eric Harley, I'm new here" I say with my fakest, nicest voice.
"Hello Eric!" She says enthusiasticly. "It's nice to meet you. You already chose your classes, am I wrong?"
"No, but my sister--" Okay, okay, you get it. Basic new school stuff happens. Blah blah blah, can I just skip to the good part?
Whatever... I grab my schedule and walk to my first class. Science. Yay. (Note the sarcasm)
I open the door to room 207A and take a seat. Wanna take a guess at who sat next to me? Nope, not a totally hot chick, (bummer...) but that popular dude. Before I can ask his name and how I possibly know him, our teacher walks in. He doesn't even stop to do the normal "there's a new student in class" thing, he just drones on about sciency things. I mean, I'm not complaining but SOME recognition would be nice.
As the bell rings, the popular dude stops me from going to math. "Follow me." He whispers into my ear. I start thinking of a bunch of sarcastic comments to make when he takes my wrist and starts walking, taking me with him.
"Woah dude, I guess you're kinda hot but I'm not into that type of thing." Yup... I've done it. For a second, I'm afraid he's about to punch me. Surprisingly, he calms down and drags me into the bathrooms.
"Now who the hell are you?" He whisper screams at me. This is not going to go well.
"Um..." I think of a bunch of smart ass names to give this kid, but he stops me from saying anything.
"Save it. You're Eric Harley, aren't you?" When I don't answer him, he slaps me. He starts ranting, "I've been looking everywhere for you! I was sent to protect another Jumper, and I get you?" Now he's yelling. Now, I could stay quiet, I could say I have not idea what he's talking about, witch I don't, but instead I'm my usual, sarcastic smart ass self.
"Oh, so now I'm some damsel in distress? Why do I need to be protected?"
"Look kid, I've been at this longer than you would think. I know how to do this job. I am a jumper myself."
"Woah wait, hold on. You've been at this 'longer than I would think'? Alright Edward, how long have you been seventeen?"
"Oh, you think you're funny? I'm actually twentyseven but Jumping can mess with your aging." The bells rings and cuts him off. Before I can ask him any questions, he just leaves. I call after him and try to follow, but I can't see him anymore. A voice from behind me speaks up.
"That's Luke... He's a weird kid." I turn around to see a shorter guy with nerdy glasses and drity blond hair. "I'm Nate by the way. Nice to meet you!" He shoves his hand into mine, forcing me to shake it.
"Um... Eric." I take my hand away from his and wipe my now sweaty palm on my shirt.
"That's a cool name! You remind me of someone... Nevermind, you're the new kid, right? Eric Harley?" The bell rings again, telling us that we have a minuet left to get to class. "Oh shucks, we have to get to class. What do you have next?" Nate practically rips my schedule out of my hand. Damn this kid is getting on my nerves.
"Algebra? Mrs. Smith? Me too! I can walk with you." Nate says, already heading to class. I have no choice but to follow him. By the time we finnaly made it to class, I swear I now know the entire plot of every Star Wars movie.
I take a seat next to this kid just as the final bell rings. Mrs. Smith is pretty nice. She had me stand up and tell a little about myself. It went a little like this:
"We have a new student in class today, his name is Eric Harley! Eric, how about you stand up and tell us about yourself?"
"How about no?" The class laughed at that.
"Okay, I'm not forcing you to do anything, but I would appreciate it if I knew about who I'm going to teach."
I sighed and stood up. "I'm Eric. I like music." Then I sat down.
"Okay, that's interesting. What type of music?" I shrugged and took out my notebooks, signaling that I was done talking.
