It started when I was sixteen when I heard a scream, then my mother said, "Fayt get out of bed". I looked up from my bed to see my mother Kari, she had brown eyes and brown hair. She was your average kind of mother in Spes, kind, caring, and cautious. My thirteen year old brother Griffin had dirty blond hair, emerald eyes, and a soothing voice, my fifteen year old sister Karin she had brown eyes, light brown hair, and was the spiking image of my mother. While my seven year old sister May she had golden blond hair, hazel eyes, was the most kind, caring, and happiest person in all of Spes. All of them were panicking around; in the corner of the house my brother was trying to calm May down, while Karin was continually looking out the window. My mother was still telling me to get out of bed; then our cousin came inside and told us that Dracos had arrived from the north. These monsters were half human half dragon with deep cold eyes, four long horns, and instead of breathing fire they use their hands to throw it, giant wings, and 52 fangs mostly for the use of tearing flesh. They are giant and muscular creatures who will slaughter anything in their way. I knew when I heard that scream it was time to leave Spes our town whose name means hope, but right now, I was not seeing any hope. Our mother told us that we would head for Nympha which is home to the elves and our father. I just remembered in the back of my mind that if we go there our mouther can't come with us. BOOM! Out of nowhere I heard an explosion outside, and now I knew it was time to go. Griffin readied up the stallions, while Karin got provisions as, May got the nourishment. Meanwhile I got my longbow which my father had taught me to use when I was a boy and when we were living together, we then went outside and set out for Nympha.
I knew I may never see my mother again, but I could not worry about that now, I had a younger brother and two sisters to take care of. By the time we got through the first night, May had already gotten bit an Araneus which is a spider and a snake mixed with very venomous fangs and is lightning fast so it does not lose its prey. Though Griffin looked everywhere for an antidote, but he was unsuccessful, but he did find some herbs that had special properties like making you grow bigger, smaller, and talk in different tongues, stuff like that, but that kind of stuff only lasts for one hour. After a few days we stumbled upon a very small town hoping there was a doctor but there were none to be found. Disappointed we left in search for a new town and hopefully that town had a doctor. To help with her with the pain, Karin made a sleeping powder for May so she could sleep peacefully and feel no pain. Griffin stood at her side never leaving her alone. Constantly whispering in her ear that she would be okay. He did this several times before I told him he should get some rest. But he argued saying, ''What if something happened and I wasn't there to help'', I knew he genuinely cared for her, but I told him that he would need his strength for tomorrow, and that I would watch her for a while. He grudgingly agreed mumbling to himself. I heard little grumbles from him like, we would be miserable without May, I wish we were still in Spes, Fayt has no idea what I'm going through, I hate life, and yada, yada, yada something like that. Then I told Karin that she would need her rest too all she did was glare at me then she went to sleep. The next morning when I saw Griffin I jumped back his hair and face looked something like a cross between a rat's nest and the world's ugliest toad.'' morning sleeping beauty '', I said with a smile on my face. He gave me a stern face then jumped to May's side.
"Is she dead?" he asked.
"She would more likely die by your ugly face then her Araneus bite," I said. Again his face looked stern, then I responded, "Just kidding, but we should make haste if we still want a sister in a couple days. We'll set out in an hour, make sure we have all our things," I said.
From out of nowhere Karin woke up and said, "Marshmallows!'' then looked at me and said, "what are you looking at?'' then went back to sleep.
