"Red! Can you please come down here?!" My mother yelled from downstairs, causing me to groan.

"Coming!!" I yelled back. I ran down the stairs of my home and made my way to the kitchen where my mother was. "Yeees?"

"Some people in the village next to ours needs some vegetables because of a recent storm that harmed their crops, be a dear and carry some out with your sister?" She asked, already packing two baskets full of fruits and vegetables. "Susan! Come help your brother take these to the next village!" She yelled, not waiting for my response to her request. My 8 year old sister, Susan, immediately came running down the stairs.

"Mom, as much as I love helping out the defenseless, I have plans today" I complained. She gave me an "Oh-really?" look and I returned it with an "Of-course" stare. She sighed, giving one basket to Susan.

"Well then, you better hurry up" She smiled, handing the other basket to me, which weighed a ton. "Susan isn't going alone and we aren't going to be selfish, now are we?" She lectured, pinching my cheeks.

"Ugh, Fine" I groaned, trying to get her off my cheeks, which were now probably as red as my hood. She smiled and let me go.

"Don't stray from the path and you'll get there in no time, m'kay? Bye bye~" She waved, already shooing me and my sister out the door. I sighed and grabbed my shoes before being fully pushed out the door, my sister doing the same.

"Big brother? Aren't you excited about this?" My sister asked, smiling as she put on her shoes. "I'm finally going with you, too! You shouldn't look so sad"

"I'm not sad, I just had other plans and now I have to do this" I groaned, complaining won't make anything better though, so I might as well do it. "Let's just go, okay Susan?" I sighed, starting to walk once we finished putting on our shoes. Susan grabbed my free hand with hers, making me smile. Maybe this won't be so bad?

We lived on the border of the forest, so walking through was like a walk in the park for me. The slightly watered plants around us always flourished, and no dangerous animals came around here. I spent most of my childhood out here as well. Then I remembered something weird from when I was younger...

- Flashback time! -

10 year old me was skipping through the forest once again. I was wearing one of my older red hoods, which was much smaller. I ran around some trees and chased some animals, I was weird. After a while, I started to get hungry, so I started to walk back to my house, only to realize I was lost. Me, bring the calm child I was, just wandered around until I found a bush of berries. I smiled and started to pick the berries and was about to eat one when...

"Hey! What do you think your doing?!" A small voice yelled at me, I stopped my movements and looked around, seeing a small boy, looking younger than me with white hair and blue eyes. I pointed to myself. "Yeah, you! Don't you know what those are?"

"Um... blueberries?" I answered, though it sounded like a question. "Why? Do you want some?" I asked, holding out my hands.

"Those aren't blueberries dummy! They're poke berries! That's only for animals to eat, you'll get sick!" He yelled, frowning as he took the berries from my hand. He started to rant about something, but I didn't focus on that, I was staring at his head, where two fluffy white puppy ears laid. I smiled and got up, trying to touch them. "Hey!!" The boy yelled, stepping away from me, "What do you think your doing?!"

"Your a puppy! See? You have puppy ears!" I spoke, pointing at his ears. A smooth movement caused my eyes to wander down, and there his tail moved around, "And you have a puppy tail!" I smiled, trying to catch his fidgety tail. He immediately started to run away, and I chased after him, curiosity taking over.

After chasing him a while, I was finally able to catch up to him and pounced, jumping on his back and petting his ears. He stopped running and fell, groaning a bit. I pets his ears which made them perk up and his tail started to wag back and forth. I smiled, continuing my pets.

"C-Can you get off me? Your heavy..." He finally spoke up once again, wiggling underneath me. I nodded and got up, holding out my hand to help him up as well. He took my hand and pulled himself up, dusting himself off afterwords. I could hear his small grumbles, which caused me to giggle.

"I'm Yuki, what's you name?" I asked, holding out my hand again. He stared at it and slowly held out his too, shaking it gently.

"...Matt" He mumbled, moving his stare from my hand to my face. "What are you doing this far in the forest? Other than chasing me around.." He asked, grumbling the last part.

Just then, I remembered I was lost and hungry. "I got lost after playing in the forest, now I'm hungry" I explained. He nodded like he understood my situation, but I could see he thought I was silly, which made me turn my golden eyes to the ground.

He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Look, I'll help you pick non-dangerous berries and then I'll show you the way home, okay?" He arranged after a bit of thought. I smiled and hugged him, nodding with a soft "Mhm!"

Afterwords, he feed me and we talked a lot. He was counted as one of my best friends at that time. even though he was a bit stubborn, I still made him my friend. We played with each other and after it started getting dark, he lead me home... I've never seen him since...

- Flashback End! -

"Big Brother!!!" Susan yelled at me, slightly glaring. I jumped and quickly looked down at her.

"W-What is it, Susan?" I asked, in a slight panic from how she scared me. I frantically looked around and I could've sworn I saw a white blob zoom across the trees in the forest, but it could've just been a bunny or something.

"You were zoned out! We're here!" She yelled, pouting instead of glaring. I sighed and looked ahead of me. True enough, we were at the entrance of the next village, a line of suppliers to help out short but there was plenty of luggage. I nodded and walked onto the line, soon giving my basket to the guards at the entrance.

I sighed once again and stretched, making my hood flip over onto my head. "Come on Susan, lets-" I looked around for my sister, but she was no where to be found. I looked at the last place I saw her and saw nothing but the basket she was carrying turned over and spilled onto the floor. "S-Susan?!" I screamed.

A loud distant scream came from the forest, causing me to whip my head around towards it. "Susan!!" I yelled, running into the forest.
