Chapter 4- Jennifer

I was so happy that I was going out of town with Jason to get my mind off Jay and Jessica hooking up. Jason and I had started dating after he helped me get back at Jay for his cheating scam. Jay would pay for the pain he caused me, someday he'd understand.

I felt something vibrate under the seat. My phone was ringing. "Hey, hey, hey!" My best friend Kayla said. "Hey girl. What's up?"

"Well, Zack and I are planning on getting married this Summer! Isn't that exciting?" Kayla was excited alright. "That's so sweet! Hey, Jason? Can Kayla and Zack come to the Bahamas with us this Summer?"

"Uh, sure. But I thought it would just be us?" Jason answered. I frowned a little then told him about how our friends were getting married and he agreed to take a flight for four to the Bahamas. "Yay! I love you so much babe. He said yeah. Start packin'! Text me later. Jason and I are going to the mall for the trip."

"Ok, ttyl bff!" Kayla hung up the phone and the car was silent again.

"Baby, are you okay? You've been awfully quiet after last month."

Jason shook his head and focused on the road. I sighed and stared out the window, evaluating my options to get him to talk.

We pulled into the mall parking lot and walked in. "Okay, Jason. Tell me what's wrong. Please, talk to me."

Jason replied, "You know, after that little prank we did last month, I feel like you've been using me to tap into your ex husband's feelings. Is that true, Jen?"

"No baby, of course not. Please, can we not argue? I just wanna finish shopping and plan the trip, okay?" I started walking off and Jason grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him. He put each hand on each of my shoulders and eyed me closely. "Promise me that this trip will not be about making Jay jealous or just about sex."

"Yes to not making Jay jealous, but no sex the entire trip? Babe, that's absurd." I tried to pull away but Jason kept a tight grip on my shoulders. "Jason, you're hurting me."

"Promise me, Jennifer", he said, loosening his grip. "I'm sorry. I'm just nervous." I rubbed my shoulders and walked into a swimwear store. "Yeah, I promise." I scoffed. "Hey, babe! You like this? This is super Summer swimwear sexy!" He called to me from across the aisle. "Ooo, that's hot! Yeah, I want that one. Now we need swimming trunks for you so you look super Summer swimwear sexy too." I winked at him and we kept looking for swimming trunks for Jason. "Now that we've found something, we need some 'stuff' for the bedroom, if you know what I mean." Jason remarked. "What happened to 'no sex'?" Jason looked at me and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "I never said that." I rolled my eyes and we searched the mall for clothes. "What about this dress?" Jason asked.

"I might as well be naked all Summer, honey."

"Oh please. It doesn't show that much."

"Really, Jason, really? My ass hangs out of it like a hospital bed dress."

"What's wrong with that?" I put the dress back on the rack and laughed quietly. "Okay. What about this one?"

Jason picked up another dress an held it over me for size. "Jason, we're going to the Bahamas, not Sunday service, sweetie." After hours of picking up and putting down, we finally gathered clothes for the trip.

Chapter 5- Jason

I helped Jennifer load the bags into the trunk and opened the passenger side door for her. We rode back to my place to finish packing up. Summer was in five weeks and I had to make sure my baby had everything she needed for the Bahamas. Jennifer brought the bags into the house and sat on the sofa while I brought down the suitcases. When I brought the last one down, I noticed Jennifer lying on the couch clutching her stomach. "Hey, Jen? You okay?" She only moaned quietly, as if she was struggling to get her words out. "Well, you should go try on your bikini so we know if you need another one before the trip, honey." I said, walking toward the couch. "Help me up, Jason," She said. I reached my hand out to her and pulled her up. "Careful!" She screamed softly.

"Sorry about that. You hungry or something? You seem to be having stomach problems." She shook her head quickly and walked up the stairs.

Chapter 6- Jennifer

I struggled to get up the stairs. I had been perfectly fine at the mall and didn't eat any bad food so I don't know what was going on. I felt so bad so I went into the bathroom. I leaned over the toilet and threw up yellow and purple. "Fuck." I whispered. "Jason!" I screamed.

"I'm coming! Be right there!" He called back from downstairs.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm not feeling too hot, honey."

"Just lie down and we'll see if you feel any better. I'm going to go get some groceries for the house for dinner, okay?" Jason said. I nodded and walked cautiously to the bed. "Hurry back." I said.

"Okay, I will. Call me if you feel any worse. See you soon." He kissed my forehead and headed out the door.

"Ugh," I groaned to myself. I got up to look out the window to make sure Jason was gone. When he pulled out of the driveway, I called Chelsea. "Hey, can you come over? I need to go to the drug store. Jason just left and I need you to bring me."

"Okay, I'm on my way."

"Thanks." When I hung up, I walked downstairs and sat on the couch. The doorbell rang a few minutes later and it was Chelsea. "Thank you so much, girl. I feel horrible." Chelsea shut the door behind us and we pulled off. "What's wrong?"

"Stomach problems," I replied.

"Could it just be your period?"

"No, I had my period a few weeks ago. It's worse than that."

"Maybe you're pregnant? Have you and Jason been using protection lately?" I shook my head. "No, but it can't be that." I said.

"Hmm, sure about that?"

I looked at Chelsea glumly and said, "No. I don't know."

We pulled into a drugstore and Chelsea walked me in. "Just buy a pregnancy test to be sure." I agreed to get a test but wasn't sure if it would say positive. After we checked out the pregnancy tests, she drove me back to Jason's house. I unlocked the door and Chelsea waved goodbye. "Thanks." I said.

"No problem. Anytime!" With a wave, she left the driveway. I was home alone again and Jason was pulling up a few minutes after Chelsea left. Perfect timing. "Shit, I gotta hide this!" I pushed it under the bed and went to the bathroom. Jason was just opening the front door when I locked the bathroom door. "Honey? I got the groceries!" He called up the stairs. "Where are you?"

"Bathroom!" I called back. I heard his footsteps coming up the stairs. He tried to open the bathroom door and realized it was locked. "Babe, why would you have to lock the bathroom door if you were here alone?" I quickly tried to urinate on the test before he knocked on the door. "Babe, seriously. Open the door." I didn't answer, eager to hide the pregnancy test. Before I could pee any faster, he opened the door and saw it in my hand. "What the hell are you doing?" He took the pregnancy test from my hands and read the result. "Why is there a plus sign on here, Jennifer?"
