Even though I am a Larmau shipper, this is so perfect for Garmau.

So I feel the first verse is more about Aphmau, and her confliction with Garroth and Laurence, her struggle to find a place to grow the alliance, and her search for answers about Irene, and the Meif'wa incident.
The chorus is about how both want to be united again, and how they protect each other.
Verse two is about Garroth, and how he always held back his feelings in the first season, and how he fears that the season two episode nine ultiamate garmau moment which all the converted larmau shippers turned back, was all a dream, and how he wishes he could go back, and how he's aware that he might be there forever, and how he wants Aphmau to be happy, even though that's not what he wants.
