I sat in my living room alone, reading. The rain fell outside my window, creating a waterfall that slithered down the glass. I felt a chill down my spine. I felt a presence. I looked up at the window. I let out a scream when I saw the figure. It looked like a teenage boy with copper color hair and a black shirt. He slowly lifted a hand and rested it on the window, Before I could get to a phone, he was gone. I shook off the feeling. I've been reading to many horror stories, I thought. I closed the book and set it on the coffee table in front of me. I then got up and headed into the kitchen to get some food. My parents weren't home and the house felt empty. I picked up the phone and called my friend who was visiting family in California. I told her how it was pouring rain and how I felt like someone was in the house with me. She told me I was just paranoid. Then I saw the boy. Copper hair was dripping wet and his black clothes were soaked. He's face so familiar. I let out a shriek when I saw him. My friend asked what was wrong and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared.

"I saw someone," I said.

"What?" she asked.

"There was someone here, a boy. Now he's gone."

"Sam, you're crazy. I'm sure there's nobody there."

"I'll call you back," I said before hanging up. I went to the bottom of the stairs and looked up. It sounded as if someone was up there. I slowly walked up the stairs, past photos of my parents, me, and my twin brother. Jayden had died in an accident involving a drunk driver the year before. We were practically the same person and it hurt when he died. A part of me died that day, too.

When I reached the top of the stairs, I heard shuffling coming from my room. A shadow danced along the floor under my door. I reached out and turned the knob, unsure of what I would find on the other side. The boy stood in the center of the room, facing the window. I gasped. He turned to face me. I looked into his familiar face, Jayden's face. He smiled a menacing smile. I screamed as he lunged at me. I don't know what happened next. All I know is that now Jayden and I are once again together.
