"I'm on the prowl," I whispered. "I'm taking my shift, you can rest now."

MARKUS

Analyzing terrain... Calculating probabilties, any circumstances, anything related to my mission...

Walking along the streets, on an early Monday morning, I begin my daily routine. Tapping my pointer finger into my temples, I begin my data hunting.

Loading... Loading... Loading....

Seeing the faces of different people, I soon became dizzy. As I analyze each person- their name, age, gender, occupqtion, etc. etc.- I let out a heavy sigh. Though I've just woke up, my reserved energy has already been drained by up to half. I don't have much time. Same old faces, same expressions. The human race progresses as slow as a turtle. This has become so boring, a task too easy for me to do already. With progress so slow, data to be gathered also decreases. What would a database do without any new data?
Nevertheless, I feel as though something interesting is about to bloom. I can sense it...

Whooooooooooshhhhhhhh........

A strong wind blew. And it smelled of something rotten.

Ping!!Ping!!Ping!!

Ah, at last! This is a good day after all. Now let's see what's in store for us.

Following my insticts, I came across a dark, old, narrow alley. It was very cramped but I managed to squeeze myself in.

And there, just behind the picket fence hidden by a huge pile of junk, in an abandoned lot, was a humongous, old tree that glowed and shimmered... with the stench of death!

My eyes widened. I need to inform the others immediately!

Bzzzt... Bzzzt...

Connecting to Axyz...

Putting my middle and pointer finger together, I pushed them hard against my temples. I closed my eyes tight and focused. Moments later, a faint frequency sets in. I focused harder, and the frequency became lucid. Pick it up! I thought, frustrated.

With the silence of the surroundings, I was able to further increase the clarity of my frequency. This frequency acts as a signal, a wireless connection used to communicate.

"Hello! How are you Markus?! Any findings?" answered a jolly voice over the reciever, who, after which greeted me with a drum roll. On contrary to my silent surroundings, the reciever's environment is bursting with cacophony. I can't stand the clamor, it makes my head throb. Although I'd prefer to talk in whisper , I was forced to shout," Shut up! Can't you pipe down a bit?"

A moment later, the noise then subsided. "Sorry, drum lessons."

I sighed. "Well, I found something rather mysterious. Forward the message to the others. I'll send you my coordinates, Peter."

"Okey-dokey!" Peter replied merrily.

After which, I hung up.

I put my hand down and sighed again. What a hard life! I kept on doing all the hard work. Sweating, I sat down a corner on the foul-smelling alley. And all the suffering is mine.

I kept on sighing, takig deep, hardly audible breathes. Until I heard a couple of foot steps.

I quickly stood. Then a shadowy figure became visible. "Who dares to wander in the shadows?" it spoke.

Trembling, I casted, "Invis!"

In an instant, my body became mist-like and transluscent.

"Disipar!" chanted the figure in a low tone. If my calculations are right, its 86% male and 14% female. And if my data is right, I've got everything under control. He then drew a 7-sided star in the air, which then struck me.

As the star materialized, I lost my transluscent state. "What?!" I'm shocked. Just quite shocked. It's another case of not being able to get someone's complete data.

Calm down, Markus, you've got everything under control, I thought. But I know that's a lie. "Recall!!"

"Name: Dmitri

The man let out a grunt and approached closer. "Darken." The area became even darker, creepier. Ok now its clear that I wasn't able to see this coming. I never thought an old janitor woukd be a magician, despite how my data gave away all possibilities that he was one. How dumb of me.

I put both my hands in my pockets. I shuffled them to grab a tiny, spiky object. "Invis," I whispered, sticking the spiky object into a trash bin right behind me. And I go invisible.

"Disipar," he casts again, dispelling my camouflage.

Save me, Peter, I thought as my final wish. Avenge me, brother.

"You'll pay for disgracing our tree," he said, confusing me. Using my data, he probably referred that mysterious looking tree, but i've never done a thing!

After then, I recieved a big blow on my stomach, and then passed out...
