Chapter 4: An Emperor's New Clothes

In a flash of green the demons were there. A room filled with midget humans. (What Epic calls ''kids''.) Vacen grinned at Epic. 

''Can they see us? It looks like they can't see us.'' Epic said, scratching his head.

''Oooh they can't see us at all. Not until we pick one we think is suitable.'' The bat said scratching the back of his head.

''But why kids?'' Epic said, looking at the vast sea of kindergarteners. The bat chuckled, snapping his fingers together. A fedora popped on his head. 

''Whoa, how'd you do that?'' Epic looked in amazement at the top of his head.

''That's my magic, appearance change.'' He said with a grin.

''Do me now!'' The tom grinned.

''Fine fine, chill would ya?'' He mumbled and clapped his paws together and jumped up. Epic's body flashed. As Vacen landed he shouted.

''Olay!'' Epic was now wearing a red hoodie, baggy blue sweats, and a motorcycle helmet?

''I look, AMAZE!" Epic grinned. But Vacen couldn't tell because the Helmet covered his whole face. The Motorbike helmet was cat-shaped, and fit snugly over his ears and horns. 

''Thankie!'' to the bat's surprise, the cat hugged him. not even coming up to his chest.

''Yeah, no problemo kid,'' Vacen said, unable to hide his grin.

''So, its kinda like picking a new puppy, ya gotta pick the one that you think will last the longest.'' The large bat chuckled.

''P-puppy?! Where!?'' Epic jumped into Vacen's arms. The two demons exchanged glances. Vacen grumbled, dropping the cat. As he brushed himself off, Vacen looked down to see if the tom was okay. He was gone. The bat glanced to see Epic standing over a young boy. The boy was drawing a picture of a cat and a dog.

''This one's cool....'' Epic said, His tone a bit calmer.
