The man with six arms looked down at me, then back at Spiderman who was right behind me. He was about to move when I stomped my foot on the ground, releasing a healing energy. Before anyone could ask "What did she do?" Spiderman was up and standing next to me.
"Welcome back sleeping beauty." I said, not looking at him. Instead, I was smirking at my six armed target. I let poison drip from my claws and I lunged at the man. I managed to scratch his arm. The poison didn't take long to affect him, that was also a new power. First, it shut down the extra arms, then, it put the poor man to sleep. I never made my poison very often though, mostly because it took energy and time. I also wanted to enjoy the fight and feel like I accomplished something. This though, this was revenge for almost killing Spiderman. It's great revenge because it makes him more sensitive to pain. For example, there are pain killers, but this poison was the exact opposite. Instead of getting rid of the pain, it makes makes the pain worst. The dose that I gave him would last about two days. I chuckled at the thought of him whimpering, tossing, and turning, trying to make the pain disappear. Then, I realized that wasn't what heroes were supposed to do. I face palmed and groaned, taking as much of the poison as I could. The poison would only affect him for about 2 hours. I knew that Spidey had a shocked expression on his face under his mask.
I smiled with a hint of nervousness and waved at him like we'd just met. "Hey, Spiderman. Names Wolf, Fire Wolf." I smirked at him, flicking my tail as i said, "If you keep getting yourself in trouble like this, you'll see me again." With a childish laugh I bolted back to Peter's house. I knew that he had no idea what had just happened and the thought made me laugh so hard I couldn't breath. The look on his face must've been priceless. I ended up stumbling into the house because I was laughing so hard. I fell onto the couch, my laughter finally subsiding for the moment.
When Peter finally got back from patrolling the city, the first thing he did was find me and confront me. I expected to get confronted, but not the way he did it though. I was in human form, sharpening my claws for the first time in what felt like forever. Without warning, he rushed into the room, gently grabbed my wrists, and kissed me. I dropped the file I used for my claws and returned the kiss.
He let me go as I blinked owlishly at him, "Wow, just... Wow, now how about a real kiss from me." I saw a glint of mischief in his eyes, he leaned closer as I whispered, "Not here, Peter."
I glanced at the windows as I leaned closer to his ear and say, "You're getting the wolf." His eyes widened as I smirked, letting my human form's green eyes turn silver.
7 years later...
Peter is still working as Spiderman and I'm still helping him in my natural form. It's been so long since the first time we met. We went on a mission to infiltrate a new terrorist group. SHIELD recruited us a few years back and after 3 years we started training to be spies. It took Peter a little longer than it took me because my heart was already as hard as stone when I needed it to be, when it had to be. Neither one of us followed direct orders though. We made it to the final destination, but, unfortunately, Peter was caught red handed. They tortured him and, slowly, he started to die. I healed him every time they almost killed him, but the constant cycle of pain made him give up.
I tried to comfort and heal him, but all he kept saying was, "Let me go, it's not your fault. You'll see me again." It took him 30 minutes of arguing and pain for me to finally let him go. Another person that I cared for had died in my arms. Another rampage had destroyed the terrorist group and I resigned. I left SHIELD and I made sure that no one ever found me again. I ran away as fast as I could, the longer I lived the more I realized that everything had an end. I watched nations fall and people die all around me. Time flew by as fast as the wind in a tornado and it felt like I was being suffocated. All that was left of the world I knew was dust and new kinds of people rose up.
Nothing lasts, everything dies. I saved what used to be my world one final time. I was injured too badly and now it was my turn to tell the person that loved me to let me go. I felt the comforting darkness create black dots in my vision. The darkness consumed me and I breathed my last breathe. The last thing I saw being the starry night sky. I closed my eyes for the last time.
The first thing I saw when I woke up was Danny and Peter, welcoming me to my new paradise. It was then that I realized that I couldn't just stop being who I was. I was given a choice, stay with those who loved me, or be put back on Earth as it's protector for however long I lived. I chose to stand tall go back to the Earth as it's protector and guardian. I maybe ancient and alone, but the one thing that I am most of all... Is a protector. That is my new obsession, my new purpose, the one thing that I had promised long ago.
You can call me a lot of things: mutt, over grown dog, werewolf, but I go by one name. My name, however, was lost over time. Some say that I don't exist, that I died, but the wolf girl does exist, I exist. My heart is cold as well as my flame. The world changes everyday, every century, but one thing remains constant. My name is Fire Wolf.
