"Carolina! You can't keep going out every night at 9 and coming home at 6 in the morning while high, drunk, and fucked up on other shit! You're going to get in trouble eventually! This isn't LA, the laws are different." My mother scolded. We've only lived in Australia for a two weeks, and I've went out to 10 random parties, and got high and drunk as fuck. It's just normal for me now, I've done it for so long, so I really don't care what my mother thinks. "It's not like I wanted to move here with you, dumbass! I wanted to stay with Dad, but noooo, I had to come with you!" I responded. "All your father would have done with you is give you money for drugs, so you can become a lowlife, like him!" She yelled. My mom does love my dad. She just hates that he is addicted to drugs, and got me into drugs at 15. Once he got me hooked, my mom divorced him and got a restraining order, plus got all custody of me, but my dad still pays for my addiction and probably will until he dies. I don't give much fucks about either of my parents, but my mom is more stricter than my dad, so my dad is my favorite. "He's not a low life if he has thousands and thousands of dollars ready to be spent!" I argued. "He only has that because of your grandfather!" "JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. "I'm sick of you, and your stupid rules, and your hatred toward dad!" I told her, stomping out of the door, it not before I grabbed my phone and pack of cigarettes. I made sure to slam the door on the way out. I walked up the walkway that lead to the sidewalk and looked around. There was a boy, about my age with bright red hair, sitting on the ground, smoking with another boy, probably the same age but with dark brown hair. I went over to investigate. "Yo," I called out. "Aye." Red replied. "Haven't seen you here before, you new to here?" He asked. "Yeah, just moved in a couple weeks ago. Mind if I join?" I asked. "Nah, you seem chill." He allowed. I sat down on the ground with them and got a cigarette. "Got a light? I forgot mine." I asked. The brown hair one light my cigarette with the tip of his and I thanked him. "So, what's your names?" I asked. "I'm Michael, that's Calum." Red introduced. "I'm Carolina, but most people call me CJ." I told. "We could hear the yelling coming from your house." Michael told me. "Yeah, that's just the usual with me and my mom." I shrugged. "I wouldn't call that normal, but whatever you say CJ." Michael shrugged. "You don't talk much do you?" I asked Calum. "If I talk, I'll probably say something stupid, and I'd hate to make a mockery of myself around such a pretty and cool girl like you." He told me, smirking slightly. "Are you trying to hit on me?" I asked, not really surprised. "Yes, is it working?" He asked back. "Maybe, maybe not." I joked. "What about now?" He asked before pushing his lips onto mine and his hand on my cheek. I kissed back, and god damn he's a good kisser. I pulled away and responded, "Yeah, it worked." I bit my lip. "So, you two are hooking up after just meeting? What the hell?" Michael sighed. "What? Are ya jealous?" I asked. "No! Why should I be jealous when I'm extremely happy with out a relationship?" He was stern. "You're just salty because I can get a girl to like me within 10 minutes of meeting her while it took you two months to get one girl to like you, and then get dumped a day late." Calum told him. "Whatever, I'm fine with being a single, loner." Michael told, dropping the subject. We smoked a bit before they interrogated me with questions. "How old are you?" Calum asked. "17, gonna be 18 in a few months." I replied. "Still in school?" "Yep, its my last year." "What school you going to?" "I think it's like Northwest something." "Northwest Christian College?" "Yeah! That's the one." "Do you know who's your homeroom teach?" "Not yet, I'll find out on Monday." "Oh, hopefully you'll get some classes with us." "I swear, if you guys cause my grades to be bad, I'll have to smack you." Both of the boys looked at me in confusion. "You actually care about your grades?" Michael asked. "Yeah, I do, a lot." I answered. "You really don't seem like the type to-" Calum started but I cut him off. "Yes, I know, I've heard it a million times before, I'm not your stereotypical good girl." I groaned. "Sorry." They apologized. "It's fine, I don't care." I shrugged. "I should be getting home, my mother's probably freaking out because of the way I walked out of the house." I groaned, standing up. "I'll walk you, it's a scary place out there in the dark." Calum volunteered. "I can go by myself." I assured him. "No, let me walk you." Calum wasn't giving up. "Fine, but I can handle this scary world by myself." I huffed, allowing him to walk with me. He stood up too and waved good bye to Michael. Calum snaked his arm around my waist, holding me tight. "You did this just so we'd get alone time, didn't you?" I asked Calum. "100%." He smirked. We looked at each other as we walked. He's probably about 6' taller than me so I had to tilt my head up and he had to tilt his down. I took the last puff of my cigarette before throwing it down and making sure it was out. Calum pulled his out of his mouth before kissing me. We have now completely stopped in our tracks to make out. He pulled away and smirked at me. "So, we're like boyfriend and girlfriend right?" I asked. "Yep." He responded. "Amazing." I responded. We slowly stepped closer and closer to my house until we were at the front door and I was forced to go inside. "See you tomorrow maybe?" I asked him. "Yeah, hand me your phone real quick, I'll put in me and Michael's numbers." I handed over my phone after unlocking it. When Calum gave it back, I saw he had put his name in as 'Cal(I'll make you c)um '. "Really?" I asked, looking at him, laughing a little. "Yes, really, because it's true." Calum winked before walking away. I shook my head at the boy. I walked into my house and called out for my mom. I got no response and looked around the house. I found my mom asleep on the couch, looking like she had cried just a little while ago. I grabbed a blanket from her room and covered her up. I went up to my room and went to asleep.
