Finding Out the Truth

Neji’s mouth dropped.

 A laugh escaped my mouth.

“I made you become shocked” I said before I broke down crying.

I set my head on Neji’s shoulder and he awkwardly patted my back.

Neji and I were there for a few hours.

“The others are searching the castle” Neji told me.

“Thanks” I said before I stood up and wiped my eyes.

I quickly shut the family tree book and pulled out two random ones from a shelf.

I threw one at Neji before I opened to a random page.

Neji followed suit.

The doors burst open and I raised my head in ‘surprise’.

Everyone was there.

“Darci!” Kiba called before he ran over to me.

“Yes?” I asked.

“Have you been crying?” Shika asked from behind Kiba.

“What? Oh, yeah. This book really spoke to me” I lied.

Kiba looked at the cover.

“The secrets of plants?” he asked amused.

“Yeah. Some of these secrets are just so sad” I said.

“Right…” Shika said.

“You should have told someone you were going” Kakashi said.

I opened my mouth to retaliate but my words got caught.

“We told Hitomi” Neji said appearing at my side.

“What Neji said” I managed.

“Is everything ok Darci?” Shika asked concerned.

“Everything is fine.” I said.

“You’re lying again” Kiba said.

“I’m fine Kiba. I swear. Some of these secrets just shook me up, is all” I said.

“Shouldn’t we get back to Hitomi’s cabin?” Neji asked into the awkward silence.

“We should” Kakashi said.

I put the books away before I walked out of the library.

Neji was by my side.

“You can’t tell anyone” I whispered to him.

“Ok” Neji replied.

When we arrived at Hitomi’s cabin we all packed up our things.

Kiba, Shika and Kakashi kept giving me worried glances.

“I’m fine. Stop worrying about me” I said annoyed.

They agreed but the kept glancing over to me everyone once in a while.

“Shi, Rin, is it alright if we have lunch and then leave?” I asked.

“Are you sure you don’t want to stay one more night?” Rin asked.

“I have something important to do back at the leaf” I said.

That got many shocked faces.

“If that’s what you want sister” Shi said.

I mentally flinched a little.
