The starlight dimmed with a sort of turquoise glimmer over the constrained night sky. Below the movement of speeding meteors on raging fire, laid a stifled wandering star away from any rays. Stiff figures travelled in airborne devices, wearing laser powered suits and kept a constant eye on their wristwatches. Strange though, since time never expired there. It was endless and weak. Maybe it was nostalgia, longing for the time that they once knew somewhere in their past.

There were no laws, regulations or boundaries. Yet they lived disciplined, clean lives, engaging in nothing remotely pleasurable and persistently limited themselves in a world of unlimited opportunities.

Children, the very few there were, studied and worked hard without being asked to.acquiring knowledge, solving complicated algebraic equations, studying solid scientific evidences, creating portals, defying gravity, finding a loophole and accepting what is inevitable. These were some of their only 'ingenuous' distractions in this world of theirs.

They had no religion, but they believed in a superior energy that has died in war with 'evil' and one day will resuscitate and help them escape this layer of thick atmosphere that kept them shunned away from memories. An energy that was hidden somewhere within them , regenerating.

The era resembled a post-apocalyptic period of slow silent devastation. Except there were no wars, no zombies, no revelation.

Nor Death.

There were only immortal venal beings and a change of time.

There was no wind but they swayed easily.

There was no ocean but thy drowned slowly.

There was no pain but they felt something within.

There was no weight pulling them down yet they kneeled.

They were spitting fireflies to paint their poems in the darkness;connectivity and electricity was in the air and their was yearning for a sprinkle of stardust over their minds before they get taken away a cosmic spell. One day, maybe.

What was this incomprehensible force that bound them in tight pieces of confused conscience and silent whispers of voices that were chained?

They couldn't perceive the answer, nor the reason why.

It was only their own thoughts that stopped them. Ever since the parallel universes collided, they've lost their way and have been running ever since.
