For me, people are willing to murder and kill

Because of me, people can't trust each other and betrayal is quick to strike
While others grow selfish, greedy and green
To much of me can lead to dire consequences
Power becomes corrupt, deception is swift, destruction is immediate
Yet without me the world would be unable to function
I am the thing that allows miracles to happen and continues to keep you working to your bone
Without me, even the simplest of tasks become to difficult to bear
