Change of Plans

Kakashi lead me to team sevens training area.

“Why did you call me dad?” Kakashi asked as we stopped in front of the memorial stone.

“I…I don’t know. It just came out. I’m sorry if I hurt you” I said.

Kakashi stayed silent as he looked at some names.

“You didn’t hurt me. I was shocked to hear you say it though” he finally said.

“I’m sorry” I repeated.

Kakashi looked over to me and he saw my sad expression.

“Don’t worry about it Darci. Lets just concentrate on the mission coming” Kakashi said.

I nodded.

We went back to silence again.

A thought occurred to me.

“Is this where you are before you turn up to training late?” I asked.

“Yeah. My best friend and teammates name is on this stone. He gave me his sharingan” Kakashi said.

“I am sorry to hear that” I said stepping up next to Kakashi.

I found the name of the person he was talking about.

Obito Uchiha.

For some reason, the name was familiar.

Kakashi and I stood like that for a few hours.

“We should go pack. It’s almost time to leave” Kakashi said.

“Ok. I’ll meet you at the gates at 8:30” I said.

Kakashi nodded and he poofed away.

I chose to walk back home.

When I got there everyone was up.

They were in the kitchen.

“Did you hear about the mission Shika?” I asked as I sat down.

Shika sighed and nodded.

“So I don’t have to alert anyone. Good” I muttered.

Yoshino bought my breakfast over.

“Thank you” I said.

She nodded and started the dishes.

After breakfast I packed.

The clock on the wall said we had ten minutes to get to the gates.

“Hurry up Darci. We’re late” Shika said.

“No we’re not. I told Kakashi to meet at 8:30” I said as I walked out of my room.

“Lady Tsunade said meet at the gates at 8:00. What a drag…” Shika sighed.

“Then lets go” I said.

Shika and I were the last at the gate.

Naruto was yelling at everyone.

“She took this mission herself Naruto.” Kakashi reasoned.

“You’re talking about me” I stated as Shika and I stopped.

“What happened to our mission?” Sakura asked.

“A more important one calls for my attention” I said.

“Just let other ninja rescue your family Darci! We need you more! It won’t matter if they die, you have us!” Naruto shouted happily.

I froze and turned toward Naruto, a look of pure shock on my face.

Naruto looked at me oddly.

“Won’t matter?” I asked.

The blonde idiot smiled and nodded.

“YOU BASTARD!” I yelled before I punched Naruto square in the face.

He flew back and crashed into the desk area where the ninja on duty sit.

I stalked up to Naruto.

“Shouldn’t we stop her?” I heard Choji ask as I lifted Naruto up by the collar.

“No” Kakashi said.

“My bodyguard from my birth place is in the hospital! For all I know he could be fighting for his life. He barely got out of there alive and came here, asking for me. Do you think I am going to abandon my kin when they need my help? How would you like it if you were a hostage and Sakura risked her life to get me to save you? How would you like it if I said ‘sorry, I have to go on a mission that is way less important because I asked for it and was assigned to it’? I will not leave my kin behind because I don’t make the same mistakes as my father. I want to go on the mission you are about to but my brother and sister need my help. And I have a feeling it’s my father behind it” I said.

As I was saying this, tears spilled from my eyes.

I dropped Naruto in a heap and walked over to Yamato.

“I wish you luck.” I said to him.

He nodded.

I then turned to Sai.

“If I find out that you did something I think is treacherous. I will find you and I will kill you” I said.

Sai smiled and nodded.

Lastly I turned to Sakura.

“Make sure the idiot doesn’t do anything stupid” I said.

She smiled sadly and nodded.

I made my way over to Shika and faced my team.

“Let’s go before I decided to break something” I said.

They nodded and we set off.

Kiba was beside me and he quickly squeezed my hand to comfort me.

I nodded to him before jumping ahead.

It has been too long I know.

I don’t have time to watch the Tenchi bridge arc so I decided to go away from the plot a bit.

I will only ask for 6 votes and four comments because I really want to post the next chapter.
