How am I 13 and been through so much pain,
Been hurt so many times I thought life was just a game,
Until it’s just the other day it all came to me,
I had a strange thought, an epiphany,
Why must I let one bad thing ruin my life?
When other lives are ruined because of one knife,
My life growing up it’s been quite good,
But things went wrong when I started chilling in the hood,
Doing bad things because I thought it was cool,
Now look at me I’ve been kicked out of school,
I’m not saying that’s good but I won’t let it affect me now,
Because it all depends on what I do from here and how,
From when I was young I was taught right from wrong,
Now young people are influenced by messages in a song,
It’s weird how we are easily led but not followed,
It feels like I was just used and borrowed,
But looking at it now im the only one out of school,
And because of what? Because I thought what I done was cool,
Im not trying to make excuses for what I’ve done,
But you need to know it’s not easy for some,
But now im changing for the better and for my family,
And for my granddad up in heaven I hope you can see.
