Some good voices just cause.

The new nick:-) isn't he pretty?

--- Nicks POV ---

I woke up at my usual hour, and was wildly confused.

'I don't remember going anywhere last night... Oh... Wait... Ah hell.' I remembered yesterday's events and sighed.

'Hmm... So if I really am stuck in this new place, I guess I better get back into the Practice, and fast.

On second thought, I wonder if there's demand for cooking skills or luthiers in a forest kingdom...'

"Actually the forest is only one small part of this kingdom. The capital, so to speak. There's a good bit of land outside it.

There is even a human village just outside the forest, mixed descendants of us and humans such as Alice, Jack, Jacob, and others who've come to this land by magical means.

And there's Different types of elves, spriggans, golems, dwarf cities, yes you definitely need to learn a good bit about this land.

A luthier is a rare craftsman indeed, so Theres definitely room for you here." Calico said from behind me.

I turned. "How..." I mouthed.

"I can hear your thoughts when your guard is down." She said simply.

"It makes me a better King. I hear people's thoughts when they're not hiding them. But shh. It's a secret."

I nodded. 'Well then. Is there need for a luthier or cook here?'

"Absolutely. Would you like to stay?"

'Not really. I'd like to go home. But if that's not an option, I'll stay with you. You've been very kind to me so far.'

She blushed. "Well then it's settled. And... If you could take care of that before we talk anymore? The bathroom is across the hall." She nodded at my waist.

I jumped out of bed swiftly, apologizing profusely in my head, and ducked into the bathroom.

I thought gross thoughts, everything from dirty old men to crusty old lady's on a naked beach, and my morning problem went away.

I sighed in relief. 'Phew. That was embarrassing...'

'Imagine it for me, waking up in bed with a woman and a new body, and having no fucking clue how I got there? Plus, it's a guy? Can I say awkward?' A voice said in my head.

'Eek!!!!! Who's there?!?!' I squealed internally.

"Are you alright, Nick?" Calico said through the door. I yanked it open.

'No, your house is haunted!! Someone is talking in my head!!' I yelled telepathically.

"Impossible. There are no ghosts in this house." She said waving it off.

'I'm not a ghost ya fecking milk drinker!!' The voice said.

"Told you." Calico said, not helpful in the least.
