WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY??? My mouth literally fell open.
"Wait. I'm sorry Harry. That was a rude way for me to put it. I just didn't feel anything. I'm sorry?" She looked at me like I was a wounded dog.
"What? Oh nah, that's no big deal. I don't feel anything either to be honest I was just afraid to let YOU down." I lied. What was I supposed to do? Allow her to pity me?? No. I don't think so. Ugh but really what was I supposed to do now??
"Oh great!" she grinned like a child, "So neither of us has any romantic feelings for the other? This is good. We can get back to our friendship. I'm glad Harry. Honestly this relationship is the only real thing in my life right now. If it didn't work out I just wouldn't be able to handle it." Her face had fallen quite quickly from the point of, 'I'm glad Harry.' ...
So that was it. I now knew what I was meant to do. I was supposed to be her friend. Just a friend. I would do it, because I cared about her and her happiness. But I wouldn't be thrilled about it...
