Chapter 27: Anonymous.

Every message scared me greatly, as my breathing started to increase in fear.

Stranger: Sam.

Stranger 2: I need her, Sam.

Stranger 3: I want her.

Stranger 4: You will have to help me get her, or I could get you.

Stranger 5: Give me Lauren.

Sam saw the colour on my face vanish as she put her hand on my shoulder. Josh must have read the text messages over my shoulder, as he seemed speechless and he became mute.

"What am I going to do?" I asked them, frantically.

They all looked around, hopelessly.
"If I give myself in, to find james, maybe..maybe I can stop him from harassing you. Maybe I should just give up."

Josh didn't like the sound of that as he put his arm around my waist, pulling me into his embrace.

"I will never let that happen." His voice was filled with defence and a sense of protectiveness. Although beneath his tough act I could feel his fear, he was scared for me also but he didn't want to show it because it would just end up worrying me more.

"Miss Sullivan we need you to come with us." The police officers said calmly, as I did want they said and followed them into a small quiet, secluded room, where I was alone with just two other police officers.

They seemed to notice my nervousness as they passed me a drink of water, "Don't be nervous. We are on your side." They joked.

"We will be asking you a multiple of questions that will need to be answered in detail and truthfully. This is the law." I nodded my head in agreement to their set of rules.

One of the officers started a recording as he shouted out the date, what the case was primarily involved in and my name.

"What offense would you like to charge James for?"
"R-rape." My hands were shaking immensely at this point, not being able to control my nerves.

"When did he rape you, Miss Sullivan?"
"I can't exactly remember, I-I think it was about a year ago." I closed my eyes in pain, as I had to remember the memory of his body against mine.

They were both writing notes as they kept checking the time on the recording.

"Why didn't you report this issue last year?" They both seemed confused.
"I was too afraid. I was ashamed." I admitted.

"What is your connections to James? If there are any, that is."
I felt physical sick having to bring myself to admitting that I used to be in a relationship with that thing. "I..I away actually in a relationship with him for a long time."

One of the officers raised an eyebrow in confusion and surprise, as he wrote down a lot more notes.
"I think we are almost done here."

The other police officer spoke loudly, "Any additional information you would like to add about this case?"

"Well about James..he won't leave me alone. He broke into my house not to long ago and assaulted me with a kitchen knife, he wanted me to do s-stuff with him but I refused. I am scared that I am never going to be safe as long as James is here. He is constantly stalking me and I can't get a break from it."

"He should also be charged for assault, do not worry about your safety, we are working our hardest to find him."

They stopped the recording as he talked to me in less of a professional manner. "We will get him, trust me!"

A small smile appeared on my face, as I felt a little bit more safer in the police officers company.

"You can leave now..just remember that we will not forget about you or your safety." That was their last words to me, as they told me to leave, which I was happy to.

Josh was leant against the wall with his head in his hands out of stress and frustration, as I could see him trying to control his terrified emotions.

"Josh." I said in a slightly dull tone from my tiredness.

He removed his hands from his head, as he put on a brave smile for me.
"How did it go?" He asked me, slightly worried.
"It went okay..I feel a little bit better now." I said trying to stop my tears that so badly wants to escape my eyes.

"I think you should just go back home now, so we can calm down a little so you can get some rest. We can have a little cuddle as well." He said as he put his arm souring my waist.
"Yeah..I agree."

We walked outside of the station where we had seen Sam and mike sitting in Mike's car. They gestured for us to come over, which we did.

"Do you need a lift?" Mike asked us both, which was true, since we had drive down here inside of the police van.
"Yes please." I said politely, as both me and his jumped into the back seats of the car.

My head was thumping in pain from all of the tense atmosphere surrounding us. Mike luckily knew where I lived, so he was able to drop us both off at mine quite quickly.

"Thank you Mike and Sam." I smiled.
"It's no problem, if you ever need us, just remember to give us a call." They said sweetly.
"I will, thank you!"

Josh put his hand in mine, as we walked to my apartment.

I could tell he was feeling tired too, his great idea for today has down down hill completely, which made me feel angry and upset. We couldn't just have a nice break together, without any problems today.

My key entered into the key slot but it didn't even work, as the door opened without it, just from a small push. Meaning, someone must have gotten into the house and broke in.

I opened the door slowly, feeling extremely scared, as josh walked in front of me, to mainly protect me.

As soon as I entered the room, I could feel that something wasn't right. Alfie was in his puppy bed, and he was crying loudly.

I ran up to him, feeling upset, as I held him in my arms, trying to defend him. I hope nothing bad had happened to him whilst I had left, since the door had been broken into.

"Josh.." I said nervously, but he didn't answer, which puzzled me.
"Josh?" I said a little bit louder and there was still no reply.

I turned over, seeing josh staring at the wall in shock, I haven't seen him speechless in so long.

That's when I had realised the writing that was all over the walls, which I hoped was painted on with red paint, and not blood.
