Chapter 13 - Harry

"Leigh?" I finally asked, staring at her with my hands still on the keys.

"Yes?" She turned her head to me, her chocolate eyes dark because of the night.

"Is everything ok?"

She hesitated before answering me, and for some reason I knew something was wrong. But what could've gone wrong anyway? I hadn't noticed anything during the whole night, but maybe I was just too tired to even pay attention to anyone else. My eyes were barely hanging open anymore and for this reason I knew that even if a whole shooting had happened I wouldn't really have noticed.

Still staring at her confusedly, my expression went from concerned to shocked in a matter of seconds. Her little hands had barely moved to the edge of the seat when she leaned her chest closer to me and her perfume suddenly bathed my nostrils; she was dangerously close and I couldn't find a reason why.

Before I could even move back, she grabbed my neck and kissed the corner of my lips, finally moving slowly to them and kissing me fully this time. Had I missed something? My head spun all around while I tried to find a reason why that was happening. I'd barely known the girl and she was literally throwing herself at me? Cutting off my thoughts, Mark knocked on my window, and Leigh abruptly got back to her seat. Still confused, I turned around and unlocked the door, opening it and going out to catch a breath.

"No need to come out the car, mate. Savanna had just forgotten something with Leigh. Go have some fun." He brightly smiled and I just rolled my eyes at him.

"I wasn't-"

"Nah, ah," his finger was now pointed right in front of my face, and I just pushed it away. "Don't deny it, Styles. I have eyes. And I don't care if you don't want to admit to me nor to Davie that you need some company. We don't need to know about your needs and with whom you supply them. As long as you're happy, we're happy."

"Shut up, Mark, I don't need-"

"Done, Mark. Leggo?" Savanna showed up behind him and entwined her arms with his. I knew that conversation was over, and the smile on Mark's lips was enough for me to know that he was expecting way too much from that evening. Not only for him, but for me as well.

"Have fun, Haz. Bye."

Not that I could do much but get back into the car. Though I kept standing outside for a while, running my hands through my hair and trying to think of something to say to Leigh without being rude. I wasn't interested in any girls at the moment, and that included her; if she was expecting something I'd have to set an end to her hopes. What was wrong with women after all?

Carefully sitting back on the driver seat, I didn't look at her for a while. I just pressed my fingers against the steering wheel, knuckles tightening against the hard material.

"About that..." for my surprise, she was the one who started talking. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I don't want you to think I'm some kind of freak who can't control herself when she's next to a handsome guy." My head snapped to the side and I tried to look as normal as possible, but... Was she just flirting with me? "Don't get me wrong, but I'm not interested on you at all, Harry."

Oh well, that was a relief. I wouldn't have to choose words and be nice about it. But I was still confused.

"I saw Mark and Savanna coming and... I kind of like him and..." she stopped talking for a while and looked at me with hope on her eyes. "Won't you say anything?"

"Uhn, sorry. Was I supposed to?"

"Whatever. I was hoping you would help me out, you know?"

"This way?" I pointed at the space between us, mentioning the scene that had happened a few minutes ago.

"This wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Sorry, I just freaked out when I saw them coming and I thought he'd feel a bit jealous if he saw his hot mate getting the girl, you know?"

"Ok can you please stop with the compliments or whatever? I'm really getting uncomfortable over here." She laughed but, seriously, I wasn't joking. "I don't know, Leigh. For what he's been telling me he's really into Savanna. Just move on, you're smart and pretty and have a whole future in front of you while Mark is just a jerk. I mean, he's nice, but he does literally nothing useful."

"First off, thank you. And second, he won't be a jerk forever. He just needs someone who teaches him how to be a man."

"And you can be that person?" She smiled and straightened her back on the seat, winking at me and leaning her head on the window again. After that, nothing else was said, and she gave me her phone number so we could talk about Mark.

That definitely sounded weird.

After leaving her in front of her house, I drove back to my apartment, finally feeling free after a whole tough day. When I looked at the clock pinned above the door at the kitchen, I realized it was already 2am, of a Sunday. Actually, Monday already. I wouldn't be really happy the next morning, but there was nothing I could do about it now. Not wanting to do anything else, I just fell on bed and finally closed my eyes, thinking of absolutely nothing.

What a hell of a day.

pic on the sidebar: I wasn't sure whether I should choose Savanna or Leigh to show you guys, but as Harry talked better to Leigh, here she is. On next chapter you'll see Savanna, even if she won't show up by then (was that confusing? sorry.)
