The message alert woke me up from my long nap. "That was an intense dream, a secretive nightmare." I said while scratching my head. I looked at the phone and it was Penny. "Hey sister! Me and Britt are already waiting in the meeting place! Where are you now?" the words popped up in my iMessage. "Oh shit! I forgot the meeting!" I shouted as I ran going to the bathroom to take a bath. I picked the most beautiful dress i've ever had. The dress was handmade by my grandmother. I ran fast because time is running faster. Penny was there, waiting in their Mercedes-Benz. "Hey Madeline! What took you so long?" Penny asked. I immediately jumped on the roofless car. Britt drove the car. "Hey, why aren't you answering me?" Penny asked. "Oh I forgot!" I lied. "I took a nap, and I guess I was in deep sleep when you called me. I'm sorry." I said. "Aw, that's okay sis. I'm not mad of you because of that." Penny said. Penny noticed my sad face. "Aw, why the sad face." Penny asked.
"They don't know what i'm feeling inside." I thought.
"Hey guys! We're here!" Britt said.
I changed my expression to happy. I don't want others to notice my sadness. As Penny opens the door, we felt the happy, joyful atmosphere of the reception. The newly-married couple greeted us warmly. Porter's smile faded away as he see me, because I once pushed them to break up. Before anyone see Porter's anger, he fake smiled. Penny and Britt had their gifts and handed them to Hugo, while I have nothing to give. They asked me why I don't have a gift. I reasoned that I forgot to buy something for them. Porter noticed my unusual attitude. I faked a smile and greeted them a warm congratulations. Hugo accepted it and thanked me with a smile, but Porter stared with an evil eye to me. "Uhh, excuse me Hugo, can I talk to Madeline for a moment?" Porter asked. Hugo nodded and said agreed.
He pulled my dress gently as we go far. As we go farther, he violently pulled me to the restroom and locked the door. "What the fuck is wrong with you? It's my wedding day, and I want everything to be fun, happy, and enjoy my life on this day. This happens once in a lifetime, in my life. Just please, do not ruin this day, I fucking begging you, just please!" Porter pleaded to me.
"You know what Porter? I am cutting myself, torturing myself, almost killing myself, just to forget the things happening to me. I have no plans of ruining your relationship, it's too late for me to stop you." I said. Tears are forming in my eyes. Porter didn't believed me. He shouted "liar" to me. I pushed Porter violently against the wall. "I don't have a plan to ruin your life ok? You don't understand!" I shouted. He tried to slap me, but I grabbed the attacking hand and pushed him on the floor, stopping him by his hand. I showed my long cut in my wrist to him.
"This.....took hours for me to stop the bleeding of this. This wound made me unconscious in the tub. I made a pool of blood because of this. Do you want me to do re-open this?" I said calmly. I released Porter's hand and helped him stand up. Tears started to fall on my cheeks. Porter understood my feelings. "I feel you already. I know you're sad because of us. Don't worry Madeline, i'll take care and love your bestfriend truly. I will risk my life for him. Never worry." Porter said as he console me. "N-n-no. He, he is, the one I love too. I didn't confessed my feelings for him. I was too late." I confessed. "Oh, you didn't told me." Porter said. "N-no, you had him first. Finder's keepers. I will try to be strong, I will move on. Love him truly. Take care of him. I will be fine to hear that you and your future family is happy, and safe." I said. Porter wiped my tears away and hugged me tightly. "I will do that for you. I will make him happy throughout my life. I will tell everything about us to you, I promise!" Porter said. We went outside like nothing happened. I sat beside Anton who is filled with happiness, but jealousy inside. We partied all day, while the newly-married couple danced together. As we went home, Penny asked me. "Hey sis, wanna rave with us?" she asked. "Nope, I have to go home now, I have to take a rest now." I said. "Why sister? Are you sick?" Penny asked. Without saying anything, I walked away slowly.
I was overthinking and tears are starting to form in my eyes. As I open the door to the house, I left it open and ran to my room. As I locked the door, I fell down slowly and started to cry. "I'm very stupid, I should've told him earlier. I know he's waiting for me to tell my feelings. I can't forgive myself. I can't!"
"I can't live in this planet anymore! Without him, i'm a piece of shit in this world!" I thought. I immediately took the knife I used everytime I cut myself. I opened the wound that is on my wrist. I made it deeper, that I also cutted my artery. I ignored the pain, I left it oozing, Suddenly, someone knocked on my door. "Cousin, someone wants to talk to you on the phone. I hid my bleeding hand on my back. "H-hello, who is this?" I asked with a soft, weak voice. "Hello Madeline. Remember me?" the caller said. "Oh! Hi Ishida-san! Why did you called?" I said with a joyful voice. "I just want to know how are you, because I feel your sadness here." he said. "Oh! That's nothing Ishida-san! I'm not sad! Or depressed, or anything." I lied. "Oh, don't lie already! Just tell me what happened." he said. "I-I was really sad and happy to my newly-married best friend. I just can't....." I said sadly. "Oh, you can't move on!" he said. "You know what? You have to go away from them. Like, have a vacation or have an adventure!" he added. "Those are good suggestions! I have to go now!" I said. We said goodbye already. "I must take a vacation. Free from them." I said. I walked slowly and felt this sudden dizziness. I lost my consciousness.
I woke up, seeing myself in my bed. I went to the bathroom and looked at the mirror. "I look pale. I already have an anemia." I said as I wear my worried face. I went outside without bringing anything. I used my Ducati motorcyle that was my cousin's gift. I drove at high speed. I don't care about almost everything. As I arrived at the park, I walked in the forest.
After for about 5 hours of roaming around the forest, I felt tired and sat down the old, mossy tree. Suddenly, I heard a howl of a wolf. I stood up and tried to look around. This time, I heard the howl again, it gets louder and louder, so I ran because they were chasing me. I arrived the last part of the forest, which is a cliff. I have no choice but to jump on the cliff. I fell down to the dark deep cold river. I held my breath as I look around the seascape. I find the sunken objects attractive. Suddenly, I saw a bright flash of colors everytime I walk through them. The flashes gets faster and brighter, going to the giant, perfect diamond-shaped stone. The giant stone flashed red and white brightly. It blinded me. I felt a sudden falling sensation, and the feeling of the cold water is gone. I felt air and adrenaline flowing through me.
This is like, a suicide to me. I don't really want to know who will catch me, or help me when I fall. Goodbye world. I'm done. I closed my eyes and never thought of anything.
Suddenly, I feel that something is...going to catch me. As I open my eyes, I see a black, giant, and some kind of hairy thing. I thought it was a monster. As I stand up, I saw a redhead girl standing. It was Tokiwa.
"T-T-Tokiwa, is that you?" I asked with hesitation. "Yes, this is me, Tokiwa-san." Tokiwa said. "Why are you...here....alone?" I asked her. "Do you remember the day I took a bath with gas and burned myself alive?" Tokiwa said. "O-oh yeah, I remember that," I said. The "giant monster" shrinked into a flower which looks like a shadow. "Tokiwa, let's go. I'll help you escape here." I said. "I want to, but how's the world? Will it accept me as I go to this world? Will they accept a deviant like me?" she asked. I drew nearer to her ear and whispered. "Don't worry, i'm a deviant, like you too." I said. This made her happy. The portal was about to close, so I held her hand tightly and jumped to the portal. We were teleported to the abandoned space beside a cafe. "Wow, the world changed alot. It's, it's more beautiful than I thought." Tokiwa said with happiness. "It developed alot, on the month you were gone." I said. She cried tears of joy. I wiped her tears away. "So, Tokiwa, do you want me to show you the new places here?" I asked. She nodded and said yes. She rode behind me. As I was running in high speed, she held my waist because she might fly away.
