Chapter five: Welcome to Xavier mansion

Three hours later...

I felt someone shaking me gently "Melody, wake up, we're here" I fluttered my eyes open and saw Hank holding my shoulders lightly "we are?" He nodded as I hopped out of the car and we walked over to the others "this is your home?" I heard Hank say "no, this is our home, this is where we'll train" Charles says with a smile.

"I'll give them the grand tour Charles" Raven said as she wrapped an arm around Charles, for some reason I felt weird with her arm around Charles, I almost felt jealous, why was I feeling this way? Why am I jealous of Raven? I was shook out of my thoughts by Alex taping me on the back "you ok Mel?" He asked me, I nodded as we walked into the mansion.

I got settled in my room as the smell of the room made me remember my time in the foster homes when I was a kid, the one friend I had through a few foster homes was a girl named Haley Rose, she was my only friend that seemed to go to the same foster homes as me everytime, except when I turned seventeen, we were separated, the funniest thing was she was just like me, a girl who ranaway from people who don't understand her mutation, whenever she cried, it rained, whenever she smiled, the sun would shine, whenever she was mad, a storm would come.

I always wondered what happened to her, everyday I'd check the weather to see if it has changed, I was taken out of my thoughts by a knock at the door, I turned to see it was Raven "there's dinner down stairs if you're hungry Mellow" I looked at her weirdly "did you just call me Mellow?" I asked as she nodded "yeah, got a problem?" She said in a joking way.

"no, I'm just not used to being called nicknames" I said getting up and leaving the room "so, do you have a power you can't control?" She asked "yeah, my telekinesis, it glitches a lot, even when I'm asleep, I could be having a nightmare and lamps go flying" she nodded "maybe Charles could help you with your power" I smiled "maybe he could" I said as I got up and followed Raven to the dining room.

I was in my room, in my pjs when I heard a knock on the door, I walked over to the door to find Charles there "hey Charles" I said with a smile "what's up" she smiled at me "Raven mentioned that you're having problems with your telekinesis" I nodded "and? Why do you care about it?" I said in a rather offensive tone "don't need to get all offensive, I was just wondering if you would be able to to come to my study tomorrow night and I could help you with the problem" I nodded "you really think you can help me, go right ahead, I won't stop you, but fair warning, any time someone has tried to help me with my telekinesis has gotten hurt" he smiled at me "you won't hurt me Mel, I trust you. I best be going to bed, night" he said to me "night Charles" I said closing the door.

Nice nightwear by the way, I heard his voice say in my head as I blushed lightly, I walked over to the bed and layed down on it "God it's been a long time since I've been on a bed" I bet it has, I heard his voice say again, oh shut up Charles you perv, I replied back, sorry, he replied back, I got under the covers and turned off the lights, falling asleep.
