CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

"Pft. Are you trying to make me laugh?" I threw him my pillow and he caught it before it reaches his face, "I'm fine with the deal, stupid. I'm good with contracts," I forced a laugh and my chest tightened. As I recall everything I've been through ever since I met them, I can't help but think of myself if I hadn't.

"How ironic," he replied, throwing the pillow back at me as I caught it. I sneered at him and shooed him away. I was about to push him out of my room but he stopped me with his arm extended and palm against my face, "Kathy.."

"Could you remove your hand off my face because it felt like you're going to crush it," I don't know if he realized the joke in it that's why he didn't budge but I know this talk isn't something he can just drop.

"How much information have you known about Leon's deal?" I stood irritated, glaring past his large slim fingers crossing my eyesight. How could he do this to a girl, "A girl, huh?" he's completely teasing me! And what does he think of me? A guy?

"Bastard! And information? Enough for me to agree," I answered, grabbing his arm and tried to pull it away from my face but he was just too stiff that I can't even lift a single finger. He was strong but he wasn't hurting me, it's like he focused on not letting me go without casualties. The thing is, can't he just hold me normally?

I heard him suck his teeth. Sliding his hand that's covering my face, to my shoulder, he gave a reassuring look. I raised a brow at him and then he sighed.

"Does that mean that whatever results may come to end you won't be guilty?" he sounded so desperate just to get answer out of me.

"What do you mean?"

He pulled his hand away from my shoulder and looked to his right. I followed his glance and saw Hazel's documents on my study table, those were the papers handed by Leon yesterday.

"Memories are precious for those people who holds it dear. Regardless of how sad and painful it is, they should never be forgotten," Evel didn't gave me time to understand what he meant for he held my hand, startling me, "I believe I told you I'd call a doctor to look after you."

"Ah yeah, so why did it turned out to be your brother?" He was still holding my hand and I feel like electricity running in my veins. How can he be so calm about this?

"He's attending a med school, after realizing that I couldn't just trust either human or vampire doctors, I asked him to look after you."

"Oh," was the only word that came out of my mouth. I was getting a little uncomfortable that my gaze was elsewhere. My sight caught the wall clock and sharply turned to him, "Don't you have a class by this time?"

"I'll skip," he emotionlessly answered. My forehead wrinkled and I took the chance to pull my hand off his hold.

"Stupid! What for?" he shrugged his shoulders and pulled his sleeves up. I sat down at the edge of my bed..again, almost crumpling the sheets I'm on. He's been a little touchy today, what's with this pervert?

"I was just going to check on you and go back to school after but I witnessed Nath's reckless moves that I don't trust his mouth anymore," after giving me a fleeting glance, he turned around and walked, stopping at the doorway, "I'm not sure about this, but if you want to fulfill Leon's agreement.." it was a long pause but I didn't bother asking him to continue, "Nevermind. I'm going to get your medicines, stay there."

"Like I could go anywhere," I mumbled to myself and hit the bed. This guy always leave hanging statements. If something's bothering him, he could tell me.
