"Well. Looks like someone has drank too much alcohol?" The familiar voice said.
I was at the edge of sobbing already and I was waiting for the impact of Seth's hand to me..
But suddenly, there's this savior of mine that came out of the blue and saved me from the hell I was supposed to be a few seconds ago. It was Rex. I knew it was him. I mean, how could I forget the voice of someone I just knew a few hours before. Right. As if I have good memory. Ugh.
"Out of my way, Asshole. I was talking to my girlfriend." Seth said furiously that I can even hear as if he's screaming eventhough there's just three of us and the sound of the party has toned down.
"Your girlfriend? And btw, talking? Hmmm.. Has talking a new definition in Webster's?" Rex said plainly, putting emphasis on "talking" and the "girlfriend."
"Yes. Hell you care about us? It's normal in a relationship to talk, right?"
By that time, I feel like I was just a tiny little stone at the shore. I was useless and I just covered my ears just to prevent hearing things from both of them.
"Ohh. I see. So talking means trying to lay hands on your girlfriend? Funny. Thought talking doesn't involve trying to slap or punch someone." Rex said and he looked down at me, his eyes seem to tell me something.. or was asking something.
"I don't care who you are and whatever your telling me. Go take a communication or reading subject when the next school year starts. So that, you can put your reasoning at good use there. Off my way now, And Off you GO." Seth said.
"Look. Don't put any finger nor dare touch Sasha. She is Mine."
Mine?
Me? His?
Rex suddenly grabbed me closer to his body and put his arm on my waist. Everything was so fast that I wasn't able to react to what's happening, immediately.
"Oh. Why are you looking like that? Shocked? Surprised?" Rex said with a playful tone. Ugh. His voice is really something.
"Yours? Hah! Well, I never knew this bitch has a different type other than me. Already moved on, hon? I bet you slept with him already. Pathetic strategy to move o--" I slapped Seth hard on the face without hesitation. I just can't take too much anymore. I've reached my point. It's ENOUGH.
"Oh yes. She already moved on from you. Come on, babe. We have lots to work on." Rex held my hands and entangled it with his. While we started to walk away from Seth, Rex left an advice for him. "By the way, don't forget to look at your face in the mirror. It might help you realize why she picked me over you. Why she replaced you by me and why she slapped you in the face. To sum up, that's because you're the one's pathetic and a total jerk."
I looked into Rex's eyes and then to our hands. Our hands? DAMN! That's when the time that things sinked in through me.
"Stay. Away. From. Me." I emphasized every single word and covered my body as if he has an illness that is so contagious or yucky.. Yeah. That might be the word.
"Ugh. Now what? I just saved you from your ex and now you're acting as if I'm someone to be avoided? A simple thank you would be great, you know?" He asked me without stepping any closer than me.
"Well, Okay. Sorry, I was too rude. Uhmm.. Thank you Rex. You just saved me from a supposedly miserable memory of mine." I said sincerely and smiled shyly at him.
"Sure. Welcome." He smiled back at me.
"Uhmm.. Can I ask you one last favor?" I asked him and I waited for just matter of seconds for him to respond to my question.
"Yes? What?"
"Can we forget everything that happened tonight? Please?"
"You mean by tonight, including the time when you spilled your drink and fell?"
"Yes." I sighed and looked at the ground.
"Okay. Bye."
I continued looking at the ground and waited for him to say more. I don't know why, but I feel like I really love his voice. Husky.. Soothing.. the kind of voice that can calm anyone (it sounds seductive too)
I remained like that for less than two minutes, until I felt a pain on my neck. And so, I decided to raise my head.. He's gone. Already gone. Have I said the anything wrong? Have I picked the wrong words? Ugh! I'm an idiot.
I returned back to the venue of the party and saw everyone were either busy chit chatting, dancing, kissing and even sleeping. Maybe their energy were too drained already. I took a cup from the counter and sat on a sofa in the corner. I caught sight of Rex talking to a girl. He seemed bored of her, but the girl just kept on talking and talking while Rex was looking around. Rex isn't interested in her. But then, as I was busy observing them, I didn't notice that Rex was already looking at me. I looked him in the eyes and He smirked at me..
The next thing that happened wasn't something I could imagine..
