Red. All I can see is Red. A river of crimson, an ocean of scarlet. Red.

Where am I? I wondered. Your mind, I subconsciously answered. Something isn't right, I can't breathe, blood, blood the red is blood. A sea of blood.

I am floating, covered in blood. Am I alive? "It's time to wake up now"

I gasped, springing straight up. My body had a thin layer of sweat on it. I looked around frantically at my surroundings. I looked up to see I was in an unfamiliar place. An old abandon warehouse it seemed.

"Hello?" I called out, my voice dull and brittle. "Hello?" I called again this time with more confidence. Accepting that no one was here, or if someone was they didn't wish to help me, I began walking out, my feet bare. I walked out onto gravel, the tiny rocks jabbing the pads of my feet.

I felt a sharp sting at the bottom of my right foot and looked down to see crimson blood and a piece of old, broken glass. "Shit." I muttered to myself and slowly bent down to attend my minor wound.

I gently picked the shard of glass out of the arch of my pale foot, scrunching my face as the hot pain filled my foot. I bit down roughly on my dry lips to distract myself from the pain.

I carefully stood back up, making sure not to put much weight on my right foot and carried on walking.

I seemed to have been in a forest of some sort, but I could see a road ahead, so, I walked towards it.

The cold wind sent shivers up my spine. I used my hands to try to warm  fragile porcelain arms. I was wearing a beaten up white now brown scrub dress.

I couldn't remember where I had been or where I was, hell I was surprised I even remembered my own name.

Within minutes I approached the ashphalt road. There wasn't any cars on the road so I just kept walking. It seemed like I was walking forever. I had no where to go. I didn't know where I was.

My hands tingled. I looked down at my almost white wrist to see my veins were dark red. "What the...?" I felt a pulse of force through them and out through my palm, a red blast coming from them. "Woah." I gasped in shock.

An hour of walking and messing around with my new found power, I approached a small convenient store. The neon lights flickering gently sending out a quiet buzz with each flicker.

I stumbled into the small building, my limbs burning from the walking. I looked around cautiously. Behind the counter was a teenage boy, Sixteen maybe, slouched over the lottery tickets. His freckled face showed a lack of sleep, his light brown short hair messy, strands falling on his face. Black glasses framed his tired face.

I quietly walked up to the desk stepping on only the black tiles. "Excuse me." I squeaked out. The kid jumped, his eyelids throwing themselves back to reveal two beautiful sapphires.

"Oh sorry I startled you." I quickly apologized twiddling with my thumbs. "No it's okay. May I help you?" The boy asked politely. "Yes. I was wondering where am I? And what day is it?"

The boy gave me a questioning look as if he wasn't sure if this was a prank or not. "You're in Washington and today is April 5th" The young kid answered, his voice cracking.

"April 5th? Washington!?" I exclaimed in shock. Last date I remembered was November 21st and I lived in London.
