Crystal's P.O.V

Driving into a little town, I notice different shops decorated with happy turkeys, pilgrims, and cornucopias. Brightly lit signs announce the coming of Black Friday sales. I completely forgot about Thanksgiving, not like I ever celebrated it anyway. But now I had something to be thankful for. Being free had its advantages. I park in front of a local bar and step out of the car. I look at the entrance and take in a shaky breath. Being aroung that much alcohol made me a little scared. But I do need to get a little job for the night, just to earn some of my own cash.

I walk inside and locate the manager, an older looking man with gray hair. I force my way over to him and take in a deep breath. "Excuse me, sir," I say. He turns around, his face holding a sour expression. He then notices me in front of him and his face softens a little. "What do you need, kid? You lost?" "No, I just noticed your sign out front and it looks like you need a piano player. Maybe I could fill that position for the next three nights?" At first he looks incredibly relieved, but then he starts looking me over. My disguise for this town is a wavy blond wig and I still have the green contacts. I lost the glasses a few miles back. "Well, I really need that position filled, but I don't know...you see, you're awfully pretty and we get some folks in here who are not as cordial as most. I don't want a young thing like you getting hurt on my account." I smile reassuringly. "I can look after myself. Plus, it's only for the next three nights."

He grins broadly and shakes my hand. "Then you're hired. Next three nights, huh? Guess you got nothing to do for Thanksgiving then." My smile saddens a little. "No sir." He nods at me, seeming to understand my situation. He lets go of my hand and leads me over to the piano. It's a beautiful thing. It sort of shines due to it being polished and the light shining on it. The piano is midnight black, along with the bench. Sheet music is already there, waiting to be played. The manager notices me gawking at it and chuckles. "Do you know how hard it is to find a soul who plays the piano in this town? It's like you were destined to come here. You wanna test her out?" I turn my head sharply and grin at him. "You don't mind?" "Let's see what you got," he says.

I sit down on the bench and flip to the first page of the sheet music. The music is a piece called 'Moonlight Sonata'. I've heard this piece before. I place my hands on the keys and start to play. The keys feel smooth and are easy to play on. Not too stiff and not to liquid. The notes are fluid and beautiful, each one connecting with the next. The music speaks to me and I hear the story behind the piece. It is a story of sadness and of love. I play until the last sheet and finish softly. I look up at the manager and beam at him. "It's perfect."

Sky's P.O.V

I lounge around my desk, editing videos and creating thumbnails for them. Basically doing nothing all day. I start to scold myself. What are you even doing here, Adam?! Look at you! You need to get out of the house sometime! Why not go into town and look at the decorations for Thanksgiving. I get up and get dressed. I do need to get out. Sulking is not going to help anything. I get out my jacket and hat. I look at the hat I picked out and smile. It's a fluffy bacca hat, one that Jerome gave to me for Christmas last year. I got out a scarf, wrap it around my neck, and walk outside. The days are getting colder faster. I can feel the wind biting at my face, and I know that winter is basically here.

Walking into town, I see different Thanksgiving decorations on the various shops. I'm glad that this town doesn't skip directly to Christmas after Halloween. I bet we're the only ones who still decorate for Thanksgiving. I walk into the town square and look around. Lots of people are driving to Wal-Mart for their turkeys and others are buying early Christmas presents. I wonder what I should get the guys for the holidays. Maybe a nerf axe for Jerome, and something awesome for Mitch...I guess they all need to start dropping some hints.

My thoughts are interrupted by music coming from the bar across the street, old Joe's place. I quickly cross the street and press my nose against the window. I can see a blond haired girl playing the piano in his shop, her fingers flying across the keys. Her countenance seems so peaceful, like she was meant to be at a piano. I don't recognize the music, but I can sense the story behind the notes. She's amazing! As the music ends, she looks at the manager and says something. I can't hear what she says, though, since I'm outside. I watch her get up from the bench, shake the man's hand, and walk over to the door. I look away and pretend to be busy as she goes through the door and walks past me.

As she drives away, I enter the pub and locate Joe, the manager. I walk up behind him and tap his shoulder. He turns around, startled. As soon as he sees me though, his face brightens up considerably. "Adam! I haven't seen you here in ages!" I smirk. "Ages? Or was it decades?" He smiles wryly. "Is that an old age joke?" "Maybe," I say chuckling. "So, what brings you in here?" "Oh, umm...," I start. I don't want him to think I'm being a stalker. "I was just walking through and decided to pay you a visit. I heard the piano being played and I decided to ask about it."

"Oh, you mean the girl? She just asked for a three day job playing the piano. Guess she's going through a rough patch, seeing as Thanksgiving is only two days away. You doing anything for Thanksgiving?"

I shrug. "Not really. My friends are coming over for Christmas, but thats about it." He nods thoughtfully. "Well, you're always welcome here, son. She is only staying for three days, maybe you could swing by on Thanksgiving day and pay me a visit. Listen to her play." I smile a little at this. I would like to hear her play again.

"Did you catch her name," I ask hopefully. "Nope, sorry. Didn't ask her name or anything. Since she's only playing three days, I didn't think it was neccesary. I offered to pay in cash also." "Oh," I said dissapointedly. "I'll come over soon, Joe. Maybe even on Thanksgiving." "See ya," he says to me as I walk out of the bar. I think back to the music, how sweet it sounded. I also thought about what Joe said. About her going through a rough patch in life. I hope she's okay, whoever she is.
