Cas
I sat in the backseat of Deans Impala, with Haylee laid across my lap. Her head rested against my shoulder. Even unconscious, she's beautiful and I can't take my eyes off her face. She's young, probably only a few years younger than Sky and Payton. Watching her sleep makes my stomach churn and I feel nervous. I think I want to kiss her. Why does she make me feel this way?
The others have been talking the whole way back to the bunker, but I didn't hear them. Dean suddenly stops the Impala and opens the door. He pulls Haylee away from me and I resist the urge to pull her back. Payton and Sky run inside and make sure Bobby is ready. I follow Dean holding Haylee inside. Dean carries her down the hall and I make to follow, but Sky grabs my arm. I look at her as she asks "Cas, can I ask you something?"
"Yes." I say.
"Do you like Haylee?"
How could she know? I didn't think I was showing my feelings. I answer quickly "No." Sky raises her eyebrows slightly.
"Well, you have been watching and following her since we picked her up."
"I just wanted to make sure she is okay." I respond. That seems believable, right?
Sky rolls her eyes and scoffs "Yeah right."
"What?"
"I know you like her, you look at her differently."
At that moment, the door down the hallway open and Dean came out he looks at sky with a questioning look.
"What, are you guys having an old fashioned stare down?"
"No." We say together.
" You guys have been out here for about 20 minutes. Bobby said Emma is okay and Haylee is going to be alright." Dean informs us.
Relief and happiness wells up inside of me, almost akin to eating s cheeseburger. I sigh without realizing.
"Ha! I knew it! You like her!" Sky crows. Why hide it? They will just continue to persist and it's not as bough I don't have affectionate feelings for Haylee. I decide to give in. Maybe they can help me figure out how to get her to "date" me.
"Ok, you caught me. I do like her." I say softly. Payton and Sky squeal "We knew it!" Before giggling.
Sam suddenly stuck his head into the room and asked Sky if she wanted to watch a movie. I asked if I could join them, hoping to pick up a few human mannerisms of courtship.
In my attempts to learn about human love, I asked many questions during the movie, which seemed sad. I did not understand the reference to this "Fault" in the stars, which always seemed perfect from heaven. I believe my interrogation annoyed Sky as she shortly sent me to the kitchen to make popcorn. I had never done it before. I waited to ask Sky for help, but Sam and Sky began to kiss, as did the boy and girl onscreen. Both kisses were soft but passionate. In my limited experience with kissing, I hadn't seen anything like it.
"The pizza man never taught me that." I remarked, thinking of the video of the babysitter and pizza man.
Sam and sky seem angry and flustered, so I leave to make popcorn. After it is complete, I herd Sky's advice and knock before re-entering the room.
