~You and Me

My fingers curl around yours,

Our hearts beat as one,

You look deep into my eyes,

Searching,

Searching,

Then you kiss me.

I express myself through poetry,

Poetry is a part of me,

To take it away is to take all my air,

And taking my air is oh so unfair,

'Cause poetry is a part of me.

The sun is you,

You are my sun,

My moon,

My stars,

You complete me.

My heart breaks with sympathy,

For I know what you're going through,

I have felt like you before,

I have felt the pain of heartbreak,

But you must stay strong,

Show him he didn't break you,

That you are still independent,

Show him that you're still strong.

Everybody loves you,

Can't you tell?

No one knows you,

Quite as well as you,

So just be yourself!

You shake your head as the tears start to fall,

You used to say you loved me, but you didn't at all,

My love for you is burning,

Evaporating away,

Freezing into cold hatred,

The night replaces day,

I turn away and wipe the tears from my eyes,

Because you no longer have the power to hypnotize me,

And inside I scream.

Just because I'm a girl,

Doesn't mean I'm lame,

You may say that teasing me,

Is mostly just a game,

Your sneers and giggles,

Jeers and jokes,

May seem like fun to do,

But they only seem that way,

To bullies like you,

You can crush a person's feelings,

Destroy their hopes and dreams,

All of this might not seem bad,

But nothing's as it seems,

So stop and think before you lash,

Your sharp and cutting tongue,

Because your saddening comments,

Are despized by everyone,

So make the world a better place,

And never say again,

Those hurtful, mean, and cutting words,

And learn to love again.

Though my heart belongs to someone,

He feels more like a friend,

And then there's you,

Your tall strong form,

Your hair so black,

You r mind so clear and fresh,

I know I should not feel this way,

I cannot stem my feelings,

I realize I must give either you or him my heart,

But who?

I am divided.

~Nightmares

My voice winds out into the wind,

Tears stream down my face,

I've never loved someone so much,

My soul is ripped apart,

My heart is broken 3000 times,

And then I wake up.

You're new,

I understand.

You're lonely,

Take my hand.

You're perfect,

Yes it's true.

Just let your light,

Shine on through.

It don't matter,

Just because you're new.
