***THREE DAYS LATER***
The twins are four days old today! Today's the day Benjamin, Genesys, & I are getting released from the hospital! Kendall & I finally get to take our precious miracles home & show them the world. This is so exciting yet frightening at the same time. These two little babies are fully dependent on Kendall & I.
Kendall brought the twins' car seats in from the car last night when he came back. That way we wouldn't have to worry about getting the car seats this morning.
***KNOCK KNOCK***
"Dr. Margret," she said, slowly opening the door.
"Come in," I said.
She came in & pulled a chair up beside the bed. I was finishing up feeding Genesys & Kendall was finishing up feeding Benjamin. Dr. Margret smiled as she sat down.
"How are you two adjusting to life with twins?," Dr. Margret asked Kendall & I.
"I think we're adjusting pretty well," I said.
"It's been tough, but we're managing," Kendall said.
"You four will get into a routine soon," Dr. Margret said.
"That's what my mom told us the other day," I said.
"I hope so," Kendall said.
"You two are probably just itching to get out of here. You probably can't wait to get home Elliott," Dr. Margret said.
"Yeah," I said, laughing.
"Without further ado, let's get the twins down the hall to get their pictures taken!"
"Alright."
Kendall helped me into the wheelchair & I held Benjamin & Genesys while Kendall pushed me. We followed Dr. Margret into the makeshift picture studio. Kendall & I got one of the twins together & one of each of them by themselves.
Benjamin & Genesys' outfits were white onsies with the words "Mommy & Daddy's Answered Prayer" with gray & white striped pants.

We went back to our room & Dr. Margret went over my discharge instructions.
"I'll give you your discharge instructions & let you sign. Then you guys will be free to go," she said.
"Alright," I replied.
"Who is going to put the twins in their car seats?"
"I will," Kendall said.
"You do that while I explain to Elliott her discharge instructions," Dr. Margret said.
So Kendall put Benjamin in his car seat & then put Genesys in hers. I looked over my discharge papers, signed them, & Dr. Margret answered all of the questions both Kendall & I had.
After Dr. Margret had went over everything & answered our questions, it was time for Kendall & I to take our twins home! Kendall set the car seat with Benjamin in it on my lap & he carried our bags & Genesys out to the car.
Kendall put Genesys & our bags in the car & then put Benjamin in. Then Kendall helped me into the car. We said our goodbyes to Dr. Margret & then we headed home. Tonight was going to be the real test. Could Kendall & I handle the twins all by ourselves with no help from the nurses? Or would we be calling Kathy to come over & help us?
"We're home baby girl," Kendall said, pulling in the driveway.
Kathy & Kent's car was sitting out front of our house, so my guess was they were here waiting for us. I assumed Kevin & Kenneth were here too, but I didn't know for sure. They had put pink & blue balloons on mine & Kendall's mailbox & porch & a banner with a blue & pink ribbon hanging on the porch.

Kathy, Kent, Kevin, & Kenneth came outside to greet us & help us carry everything inside. Kendall opened the door & took Benjamin out. Then he came around & opened the other door to get Genesys. He set Benjamin down & grabbed Genesys. Kevin & Kenneth grabbed the diaper bags, flowers, balloons, & other bags from the backseat.
"I'll be right back out to help you baby girl," Kendall said to me.
"I'll help her Kendall. You get the twins settled in," Kent said.
"Thanks dad."
"Thanks Kent," I said.
"You're welcome Elliott," Kent said.
"I'm pretty slow, so it might take a while to get inside."
"It's okay Elliott. Take your time. You just had surgery five days ago."
Kent helped me out of the car & into the house. He made sure I got to the couch safely. I saw Kendall had brought down the bassinets for the twins. I guess he was thinking what I was thinking; we'll be sleeping down here at least for tonight.
"Do you want anything to drink baby girl?," Kendall asked me.
"Umm I'll have my sparkling water. Thanks babe," I replied.
Kendall went out to the kitchen & I sat on the couch admiring my two little miracles fast asleep in their bassinets. I must say, Kendall & I made some pretty damn adorable babies!
"So Elliott," Kevin said.
"Yes Kevin?," I asked.
"Can I hold the twins?"
"Sure. But only one at a time."
"Yeah, I want the other one!," Kenneth said.
"You guys can them out of their bassinets. I would help you guys, but I still can't move very well yet," I said.
"It's cool Elliott," Kevin said.
"Yeah, I mean you were just cut open & had two babies. It's completely understandable," Kenneth said.
Kendall came back into the living room & handed me my bottle of sparkling water.
"Thanks babe," I said, smiling at Kendall.
"You're welcome baby girl," Kendall said, returning the smile.
