What's left of Them

Chapter 1:

The start if everything

"Ok ok, you can do this Ruby. This is what you do... most of the time!" Ruby thought to herself.

"RosieDosie," called Patrick; a guy from her class that was also warming up for the race. He called her over and she went! Patrick introduced her to James Rees! The most popular kid on the year above them! Ruby knew, "exactly" who he was! And so they talked a few minutes and then...

"Ok, all high school girls, please line up at the starting spot to start the race... On your markes, get set, go!" So Ruby started running. She was about to finish the first lap, when James cached up to her and they sprinted the rest of the way! Ruby came 6 of 30 and James 4 of 25!

When James and Ruby made the finish line.... everyone clapped, and seriously, EVERYONE! James picked up Ruby and gave her a hug! When he put her down he told her; "We did a great job, together!" And Ruby, well she didn't know what to do so she just laughed; "Yeah, we did a great job!"

Then, well... They had to go their diffrent ways.. if you know what I mean. He kissed her on the check; "Well see you soon R-u-b-y... right?" "Yes, yes!"
