Everything for a Change

Chapter 23

     Bree's POV
     "Do you wanna go?" Dylan asked. I stopped crying by now and looked at my phone for the time. It was 2:30! "Ya we've been here for almost 2 and half hours." I said standing up and brushing the dirt off of me.
     We walked back to the car in silence and got in. Dylan started the car and we left. "Before I take you home, we have one more stop to make." he said. I just nodded my head and looked out the window.
     Another hour passed by and we still weren't at our next stop. As we sat in silence I felt a hand intertwine with mine. I looked over at Dylan and smiled.
     Finally after about an hour and a half drive we made it. We got out the car and he lead my to this little grass area with a small pond. "Do you remember this place?" he asked walking up to me. It took me a minute, but I remembered it.
     "You, Ella, Tyler, Alex, and I used to all come up here and play." I said walking towards the pond. "Ya. We used to beg our parents to drive us up here." he replied looking over the pond. "We'd play freeze tag and swim in the pond." I said smiling at the water. Dylan walked up and sat down beside me. "Do you think he wishes he could take it all back?" I asked looking over at Dylan.
"I do wish I could take it all back." a voice from behind us said making me jump. I stood up and looked at Tyler. His eyes were red and puffy which probably means he's been crying. Dylan stood up and Tyler went wide eyed.
Tyler walked up to Dylan and gave him a bro hug. "Dude I didn't know you were in town." Tyler said. "Just got in tonight and aren't you on the run?" Dylan asked. "No, I'm free. Alex's family doesn't want to press charges and I proved to the court it was self defense." "Oh." Dylan replied.
     I just started at him. "Look Bree I'm so sorry-" he started but I cut him off by pulling him into a hug. "I...I forgive you." I said in a quiet voice. I heard a sigh of relief and then he wrapped his arms around me.
     "Tag your frozen!" Dylan said smiling at me. "Oh your so gonna get it-" before I finished my sentence Tyler tagged my hand and I took off. We spent the rest of the night at the pond playing freeze tag and looking at the stars.
     I woke up with my arms wrapped around Dylan. He had his one arm wrapped around me. I sat up and saw Tyler laying next to me. My back started to hurt, and I realized we spent the night in the grass. The sun was coming up and the sky was turning into a orange color.
     I shook Tyler a little and he groaned and rolled over. I turned to Dylan and said "Wake up sleeping beauty." He opened one eye and started to smile. I laughed and stood up. "Where are your keys." I asked in my tired voice. Dylan reached into his pocket and handed me his keys.
     I walked over to his car and collapsed in the back seat. Dylan got up and walked over to the car. He climbed into the drivers seat and leaned his head back. I drifted peacefully back to sleep in the car.
