The princess who lost her legs

Part Three: Luminar

I've been swimming behind Coraline and Josh for almost an hour. I've become more and more tired and my tail is giving up on moving.

"Can we take a brake? My fin is giving up on being.. Uhm.. Finny..." Coraline makes an abrupt stop and Josh begins laughing. "Finny? Really?"  Coraline asks in a tone I am not to fond of. Josh leans onto Coraline's shoulder for support from laughing so much. "We are here anyway. Josh tell mother we have arrived. While I take her to Luminar." Josh nods his head and turns to me and smiles, winks and swims away and then he suddenly disappears into midair or... Well.. Mid-ocean? Is that a word... Oh well. Now I degree that it is a word.

"Where'd he go? Is he dead?" I say in a worried tone. Such a gorgeous creature cannot, CANNOT, die. "Don't be silly. His gone inside the city. Let's go as well." Coraline smiles at me evilly and shoves me into the oveanish..

I close my eyes, scared that I'm ganna start turning and whirling into another portal thingy. Whirlpool she called it. Well that makes sense now!

I open my eyes and realize I wasn't in a portal or anything I was actually in an under ocean Atlantis. I smiled as I took in the beauty and vibrant energy booming off of the marble, pearl coating buildings. 'Well it would be super spectacular if it was all pink.' Aww my thoughts exactly.. Wait that was my thoughts.. "You should really stop talking to yourself out loud. We can hear you." I turn around and face Coraline. I frown at her and suddenly realize she seems completely different. Her hair which was once a little blonde bun is now flowing and has streaks of purple and green in her hair. Her tail which once was a plain brown is now a sparkly blue and a small pendant necklace (saying her name) is perfectly placed on her neck. And a beautiful shell crown/tiara placed on her head.

I pout and cross my arms over my chest. "I want one I those." I say while pointing at her tiara. She giggles and smiles. "Maybe you could speak to Luminar about it. And maybe she will give you one." I smile and nod. She starts swimming and I follow behind her humming quietly while staring at the beautiful buildings and busy uuhh streets?

Mermen and women chasing down busy buildings and underwater shops. Swimming fast past us like they have no time on their hands. We finally arrive infront of a huge tall glass tower like building. It's absolutely beautiful and shiny and glittery and.. And.. Pink!! My smile grows bigger. And I grab Coraline by her shoulders and shake her. "It's pink! Like really pink and really sparkly!!" She looks at me as if I've gone completely mad and cocks an eyebrow at me. "Rriiigghht... I'm ganna pretend that very happened. Come on let's go in. Luminar is waiting." She shoves me into the building. Where we are greeted by an overly excited mermaid.

"Coraline!!" She jumps into Coraline's arms and squeals. "Luminar, hi... Ok can't breathe.." Luminar, I'm assuming, giggles and let's go of her. "Sorry, I haven't seen you in forever and... Oooh is this the new one I've heard about by Coral?!" She grabs me and squeezes my face between her hands. "I demand you let me go this instant you peasant." She drops her hands to her side and looks over at Coraline and all she does in return is simple shrug.

"Mother asked that you if her up. If I were you I would get rid of her super princessy bun and neat hair. Try to fix her attitude while your at it." Coraline winks to Luminar and I groan in response. "I will have you know my attitude has no need to be improved. It's perfectly fine." Luminar grabs me by the wrist and whooshes me into a beautiful salon.

After I've been in the salon, for about forever, Luminar finally announces that she has finished with my makeover. I get up from the floating stool and make my way to the mirror that I was pointed to go to. I close my eyes 'cause I'm expecting the worst. I slowing peak out from under my fingers and I'm shocked at what I see. My make up is light and done to utter perfection. My hair is long and wavy and dare I say looking healthier than ever. My dress has been removed and been replaced by beautiful blue-purple shells only and a pearl necklace chocker around my neck. My brunette hair has a multitude of blue and purple highlights.

I look radiant. Not that I don't always loo radiant but now I look extra radiant. Luminar places a shell tiara on my head and I smile brighter. "Coraline said you asked if you could have one. She's not so bad as she seems. I promise. She's just a bit hard headed and stubborn when it comes to new people." I smile and thank her then swim back to where Coraline was waiting.

Once we say our goodbyes, we continue to make our way to the underwater castle. I can't wait to meet the queen. Maybe she will understand me.
