Chapter Three

A month ago

"Elena Lee"

She turns around to see god of thunder was standing here. She puts a book down and greet.

"Glad to see you. Lord Raiden"
"Glad to see you too"

They went outside the libraly. Raiden leads her inside the temple.

"Well, my grandmaster told me this is important, what is that?"
"About Shang Tsung"

Her smile then fade. She sit in silent, waiting for him to say something.

"I have a vision..."
"..."
"The death will bring the peril to us. So do not kill anyone"
"...Did you think I'm going to kill him? Is that in your vision?"
"Even Sub-zero trained you so well but you are teenager. The rashness can make you lose your sense and you will do the thing you will regret, just like what Scorpion done to you"

Elena then yell at him.

"He killed my brother!!"
"..."

She wipes the tear away and take a deep breath.

"I'm sorry..."
"...I know what do you feel, but if you kill, you're nothing different from him"

She nods her head in understand before say goodbye to each-other.

"Kombatant, the next match will now begin"

After Shang Tsung done his sentence, Scorpion appear in the arena. He scan at the fighters.

"Where is the Liang Kuai, Sub-zero. He kill my family and clan. I will have his head!"

Elena take a deep breath, trying to control her need to beat him and anger.

"I accept the challenge"

Then the man come in the arena. He is Kung Lao.

"You will regret your impulsiveness"

The fight begin and Scorpion wins.

"Kung Lao!"

Lui Kang run toward him and help him stand up.

"Listen when your elders speak. You could not win this fight"

Said Raiden. He still looking for Sub-zero.

"I have defeated the challenger, Shang Tsung! I demand Sub-zero!"
"You will demand nothing! Nightwolf!" Said Shang Tsung

The shaman walk into the area, talk to him.

"Your aggression misplaced"
"What do you about my past?"
"You are not the only one whose people have been victimized"

Nightwolf said before walk away, ready for the fight.

"But I have found new purpose in serving the spirits. I do not cling to the past"
"You no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your kind. I will honor the memory of my fallen"

The battle start and they fight very fast. Finally Scorpion wins again.

But seems like it's not enough for him. Scorpion look at the fighter again and stop his gaze at Conner.

"That guy"

Said Scorpion to Shang Tsung. The old man just smirk and say.

"As you wish. Scorpion versus Conner Yamada!"

Conner smirks and says to Elena.

"My turn"
"I know, be careful"

Conner pick up his axes and come to the area.

"You will see how wrong you said to Lin Kueai's students"
"You can't erased the true"
"Begin!"

Shang Tsung shouted. Conner starts first. He throw one of his axe toward him. Scorpion dough it but Conner slide down and kick him at the legs cause him to fall. He quickly get up and grab his other axe, throw it toward Scorpion's head.
Scorpion teleported away and appear behind Conner. He punch his neck but he swing his arm to block the attack.

"I really don't like the backbiting way"

He kick at his arm back. Scorpion growl and grab Conner's arm and pull he toward him.
He attack his knee on Conner's stomash and punch in the face. Conner take a deep breath before ignite the flame in his hand and throw it to Scorpion.

"Agh!"

The hot ball fire hit his arm but he only stare at Conner with anger inside.
He push Conner down to the floor and ignite the flame and throw it to Conner's chest.

"Aghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!"

The scream of agony echo through the area.

"See how different of fire?"

Scorpion mock at him before the fire burning inside he stop. Conner breath heavily before pass out.

"Conner!"

Elena quickly run toward him and lift him up.

"First student, next is master"

Elena glare at him with anger inside but bring Conner out of here.

"You will never touch my master!"

She mumble but lound enough to hear. Scorpion just smirk.

"You'll see"
