The first bell of the morning had barely finished ringing when the halls of Starr Park Private School were already overflowing with students. Designer bags rested on polished lockers, expensive shoes crossed the marble floors, and conversations filled every corner of the building. Everyone seemed to know everyone, and everyone seemed to know exactly where they belonged.

And then there were the girls.

Mandy walked through the main entrance with Lumi, Emz, and Melodie beside her. They didn't need to announce themselves. Heads turned anyway.

Mandy carried herself with effortless confidence, her expression calm as she looked around the crowded hallway. She knew almost everyone here, and more importantly, everyone knew her. She wasn't just popular.

She was the person everyone watched.

Lumi leaned closer to her.

"Tell me you saw what happened yesterday."

Mandy raised an eyebrow.

"I've been here for thirty seconds."

"Exactly. You've already missed everything."

Emz laughed.

"That is physically impossible. Mandy somehow knows everyone's business before they do."

Mandy smiled.

"It's a talent."

Melodie shook her head, amused.

"You're all impossible."

The four girls continued down the hallway, completely comfortable in their little world. They could make fun of almost anyone and get away with it, but there was never any competition between them. They were genuinely close, and that was obvious in the way they moved together.

Then the atmosphere changed.

A loud group of boys entered from the opposite side of the hallway.

The football team.

Draco was walking beside Edgar and Fang, casually talking about practice. But the moment they entered the main corridor, several students turned toward them. They were just as well-known as the girls.

And at the center of them was Chester.

He was wearing his football jacket, his bag hanging from one shoulder, and the kind of confident expression that made it clear he knew exactly how much attention he received.

His eyes immediately found Mandy.

Her smile disappeared.

His did too.

Lumi noticed.

"Oh, no."

Mandy crossed her arms.

"What?"

"Nothing."

Chester stopped in front of his friends.

He looked at Mandy.

Mandy looked at him.

Neither moved.

Emz whispered,

"Here we go."

Chester's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Morning, princess."

Mandy gave him a cold smile.

"Don't call me that."

"Why? You look like you own the place."
