Los Santos was unusually quiet that morning. Well, as quiet as Los Santos ever got. Cars were speeding down the street outside Michael's house, somebody was yelling somewhere in the neighborhood, and Franklin's car could be heard pulling into the driveway. Inside the house, Michael was standing in the kitchen with a coffee in one hand and his phone in the other. Amanda was nowhere to be seen. Tracey was upstairs getting ready to meet up with friends. Jimmy was on the couch and y/n was sitting beside him, staring at the television without actually watching it.
Jimmy had been talking for at least five minutes "...and then I told him that there's no way I'm paying for that because technically it wasn't even my fault."
She nodded while looking at the TV trying to focus „yeah" slipped softly from her lips slightly annoyed.
Jimmy looked at her and sighed "You weren't listening."
"I was." She protested even though she knew she wasn't listening
"What did I say?" Jimmy asked her
She paused. Looked directly at him then back at the TV "...Something about paying for something?"
Jimmy groaned "See? That's what I mean you weren't listening"
Y/n sighed „you talk a lot, you've been talking for at least 10 minutes without a pause."
Jimmy looked at her grabbed his phone and started to scroll through it without saying a word.
He looked at her 20 minutes later „you've been acting different"
She looked at him „I'm tired" escaped her lips
There was something about the way he said it that made her look at him.
He wasn't angry. Not really. He was suspicious. She looks away. Her thoughts carry her away. The silence that followed was way worse than an argument. Jimmy wasn't even a bad boyfriend. He was funny. He was sweet. He cared about her. But she hates how he yearns for her attention. His stupid jokes. His complaints.
And then there was Trevor Philips. She closes her eyes for a second. She hadn't meant for any of this to happen. Trevor was supposed to be the last person she would ever become interested in. He is loud. He is Chaotic. He is unpredictable. And somehow, every time he walked into a room, y/n attention followed him before she could stop herself. She didn't understand it. And she definitely didn't want Jimmy to notice.
The front door opens. Franklin walks inside "what's going on with the funeral atmosphere?" Franklin looks at them both
„Nothing" Jimmy replies without looking up from his phone
Franklin raises an eyebrow. "Yeah? Cause it sure feels like somebody died in here."
She lets out a small laugh. A real laugh. "Nothing happened. Jimmy was just telling me about some guy trying to sell him a car."
Franklin looks at Jimmy "Again? Seriously dude?"
Jimmy finally looks up from his phone "What do you mean, again?"
"You've been talking about that damn car for, like, three days." Franklin shakes his head, laughing.
She smiles "Anyway, what are you doing here?"
Franklin holds up the keys in his hand. "Michael asked me to come by."
"Of course he did," Jimmy mutters.
From the kitchen, Michael calls out. "I can hear you, you know."
Before Jimmy can respond, Michael's phone begins ringing from the kitchen. he walks back into the room, glances at the screen and immediately stops.
His expression changes "No."
Franklin looks over "Who is it?"
Michael stares at the phone "Trevor."
Jimmy groans "Oh, God."
She immediately goes quiet.
Michael looks at the screen for a second before answering "What do you want, Trevor?"
The moment she hears Trevor's voice coming through the phone, She recognizes it instantly. Her stomach gives a small flutter. She quickly looks down, hoping nobody notices the faint warmth spreading across her cheeks. She doesn't know why she's suddenly nervous. It's just Trevor. At least, that's what she tells herself.
Jimmy is still staring at his phone, completely unaware. Franklin, however, glances over at Sophie. He notices the slight blush. His eyebrows lift for half a second. She catches him looking and immediately looks away.
Michael pulls it slightly away from his ear "I said no. You cannot come over"
Y/n bites the inside of her cheek, trying not to smile. She knows that voice. Even muffled through a phone, she knows exactly who it is.
Michael points at the phone "Fine come over but I'm warning you, Trevor. If you start anything, you're leaving."
Michael hangs up.
Jimmy groans again "Great."
Franklin laughs "You sound thrilled."
"I am not spending my Saturday with Trevor."
Y/n tries to sound casual "How soon is he coming?"
The room goes quiet for half a second. Y/N immediately realizes how quickly she asked.
Jimmy looks at her "Why do you even care?"
She shrugs and looks away "Just asking."
Franklin looks away, hiding a small smile.
She looks toward the window. She doesn't know why she's suddenly aware of every passing car.
She tells herself it's nothing. She's simply curious. That's all. A few minutes pass. Then they hear it. A loud engine approaching the house.
Jimmy immediately drops his head back against the couch "Here we go."
The front door opens. Trevor walks inside "Michael!"
Michael sighs "Trevor."
Trevor looks around the room. His eyes land on Franklin first. Then Jimmy. And finally y/n.
His expression changes into a grin "Well, hello, y/n."
She looks up at him "Hey, Trevor." Her voice comes out quieter than she intended. Trevor notices. Of course he does His smile grows slightly.
"Good to see you."
She smiles back. And from across the room, Franklin notices the look they exchange. He says nothing. Not yet.
