Bronwyn Anderson lived a very structured life, she had rules. But the most important one? Never fall for a firefighter.

After she lost her father at seven years old, Bronwyn watched her mother pick up the pieces of a life that would never be the same. She knew firsthand what loving a first responder could cost and she had no intention of making the same mistake.

Then she met Harry Grant. An eighteen year old firefighter with a complicated family history and a stubborn streak.

Despite every rule Bronwyn had made for herself, Harry slowly becomes the exception. But Bronwyn knows all too well that firefighters don't always make it home and Harry might be the one person she can't afford to lose.
